Biggest loser

It's been a year since I signed up for E2M and made changes to my life.

I am just above my maintenance weight. I lost about 15 lbs with my most at 20.

I stopped drinking beer which was I should have done sooner. I am allergic but would just deal with the consequences. No more. Too many days stuck home feeling like crap. I actually stopped drinking all together after the new year. Good choice.

Also cut out added sugar. I sometimes treat myself but avoid as much as possible.

I cook meals 6 days a week and meal prep.

My inflammation is down and snoring minimal. Feeling better overall. I will have my annual blood work done in November. Curious.

PRs lifting at CrossFit. Still running. My endurance riding isn't where it used to be but oh well.

Onto another year with the better me.
great update and belated Happy Bday!

figured I should check in here myself to stay accountable.

I was on a great trajectory fitness wise and riding more MTB the last few months until I got injured on Oct 29th at the DM race. What's been interesting is that while my overall weight was up a few lbs the last few months compared to last year, my fitness felt pretty good. I credit this to changing my routine and spending more time (2-3 times a month) on the MTB which helps me use different muscles.

Today is day 1 that I am cleared to ride after 2.5 weeks of doing nothing and I didnt even bother getting on the scale as I know I am up a few more lbs based on how I feel and how the clothes fit. Did a 1 hour Zwift spin with a few 15-30 second efforts and it felt ok no major pain just a little soreness. Will see how it feels tonight/tomorrow is the real test to me.

As long as the knee cooperates, I plan to just slowly continue to build the cardio and the leg back up and hopefully at least maintain weight. I ride all year round and have a new to me gravel bike waiting that I haven't been able to ride so I see a lot of gravel rides in my future, but will have to give the MTB a break for a few weeks to keep the risks down.

Knocked out my last tough mudder at the end of September and started my winter bulk October 1st. Been killing it in the gym put back on the bit of muscle I lost from all my endurance training this year and I'm lifting heavier than ever in every lift. Plan to keep it up until end of February then start to cut back again.

Checking in. I am still at my maintenance weight. Made a promise to myself to get to CrossFit at least twice a week. With the weather changing I have a feeling I’ll be there more. Still doing cardio with running or a bike ride here and there.

Had my annual bloodwork done. Dr. was very happy with my weight loss, but results show my cholesterol is high. It does run in my family, but I know that eating eggs just about every day probably doesn’t help. This has been an ongoing problem. Most of my life though. Perhaps I should switch out more chicken and turkey for beef and pork. All other blood work great.

Into the holidays, we go!

I've thrown way more cheat days down then I should be allowing and time to get serious or the yo yo effect will commense.

I sit at 230 which sucks, I hate this number because I had to really work hard from this number to get to my lowest of 222 this summer.

Been putting up some great physical rides lately and that's what's up my cheat foods. Trust me I pay the piper when I do. Got to hit that mental button to lock the sugar food down.

Going to start a body weight program in the next week as I am getting a program off a friend who's a trainer so we shall see where this goes. Basically working it for my specific needs and not to hurt me in my weak or old joints. Hoping to come out of winter better then ever. Praying I can actually get back on ski hill and not break.

Wife had elevated cholesterol too following E2M. Wasn't eating eggs everyday either, so yeah genetics. We've been doing more hardboiled eggs and making ground turkey loaf with a breakfast sausage spice mix for our protein with the 1st meal. 2nd meal is pretty much always chicken.

Sugar detox is no joke. You got this.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm going to be posting some gym equipment for sale tomorrow but figured I would put it in here first. I have bowflex 552adjustable dumbells 5 to 52.5 lbs and a marcy adjustable bench for sale. The best black Friday price I saw for the dumbells are 350 +tax and the bench 200 + tax. I'm looking to sell both together for 400 both are in great condition but I have upgraded both and don't need 2 benches and 2 sets of dumbells lol. Location is warren county by the pequest hatchery. Hope you all have a great holiday

Been awhile since I've updated. Dealing with a nagging knee issue that's kept me off the bike. Work has gone bonkers. I'm stress eating and my adult beverage intake has increased. Still getting walks and workouts in the morning before work. Meals are still on plan, it's in between that's the issue. From my post above, looks like the last time I stepped on the scale was 9/25. Three trips coming up: Cape May weekend, Veterans Day weekend camping in VA with the dudes, then FL for the Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Need to focus.
After the holiday check in. Knee is better, not 100%. Able to push through run/walks, leg days and riding. PT said there's nothing wrong feeling a little discomfort and keep working on hip strength and flexibility. Work is still crazy with very little direction day to day. The stress eating and adult beverages was decreased until the trips mentioned. The trips were pretty much undisciplined with just light activity while enjoying eating and drinking. Committing to keeping my motivation and the daily discipline routine. Clothes are feeling a little tight. I've eliminated all my old fat clothes, so only 1 way to go with this.

Weighed in this morning at 203. Haven't seen that number since probably Mar '22. Been on a steady move up since the end of race season. With the E2M program, it's easy to get things going in the right direction quickly and effectively.

Just checking in. It's coming up on almost 2 years since I started with you folks on this. Pretty happy with how I have been able to keep things steady. The great thing is I never really feel like I am denying myself anymore. Biggest difference is the willpower to limit portions and really not as hungry anymore. Haven't been logging my food for about a year or so, just weigh twice a week to keep the motivation. I'm sure I could get below 190 if I quit the beer/wine, but what fun would that be? 😁 Keep the faith and hang in for the rest of the holidays.

Was feeling good and light. Until I stepped on the scale and it shows plus 5. Holiday crunch time is upon us.
I hear that.

2 weeks off the bike due to injury and thanksgiving and a wedding this coming weekend also up 5+ lbs since last few months.

Lucky for me the knee is pain free and I’ve been back to riding so it’s Time to stop eating crap and get back to work.

Did an 1:15 of hill repeats during my lunch ride today and felt good enough to stop feeling sorry for myself and let it go off the rails until Jan 1.

This is awesome man great work 👏 I can't believe it's been almost 2 years either crazy to think all the positive changes I've made over that 2 years all starting from a thread one here I didn't really want to commit to 🤣

And you probably still win the “best home
Gym setup” award 🤪

Haha I got a few new toys for it on black Friday too 🤣 the Great part is it all gets used constantly and didnt turn into a bunch of coat racks

Ours isn't quite coat rack status, but it's definitely close. Wife still uses it once or twice a week. We built ours out during the pandemic and in 2022 I got a job that has a state of the art fitness center in the office with super nice showers, turf area, 3 Olympic racks.

It feels insane to use our little cave with 7' ceilings at this point.

Nice 👍 at this point I'm better equipped then some gyms 🤣 the new additions are 80 lb nuobell adjustable dumbells , a bells of steel plate loaded cable tower and a new pioneer lever belt. My wife's loving the cable tower, so much versatility and she likes machines better than free weights
