Drop bars-what do I want?

For as much as I tinker with the MTB's, I'm a relative noob with the road stuff. I just get on and pedal. Might be the Defy was pretty sorted stock? Anyway, the Caad came with the stock round tube drop bars but I had some sort of FSA flat top on the Defy. So, if I wanted something more comfy or easier on the hands, what would be the move? If anyone has something cool lying around to sell, that's interesting also.
Cheers!

I’d just put on the thicker bar tape. And try different gloves. Try to make the stock bars work before you go overboard.

When you start road riding you’ll go through aches & pains. It’s normal. I’d put some time in before you do too much.

I may have carbon bars laying around if that’s helpful.

I have been eyeballing this bar for a long time and I finally put them on my road bike this week

Yes they are weird looking, but the first ride seems to prove that they are unique in ride comfort and ergonomics.

Redshift makes some grips to add to the tops of round bars to add a flat section. I added these to mine and its very noticible. Could be worth a shot as an experiment to your existing bars before jumping to a set with it built in. also, being rubber, they will be even softer than just tape over flat bars.

Stop by the shop and you can take them for a spin.
I gotta bring the Orbea by one day also.

That's a neat idea and price ain't bad. Cool thx!

Upgrade or don't bother.
