Car-spotting thread

Oh man, that would be a perfect motorcycle transport. What's the interior layout like?
After the 3 passenger bench seat, it's basically a blank canvas. Ordered it with an optional heavy-duty floor and rear sill scuff plate, but wasn't available because supply chain. Same issue for the ordered black matte wheels and wheel well liners. The floor is important as we don't plan to make it a camper van, just a secure gear hauler to pull our teardrop camper.

Nice, but couldn’t you have just built one from spare parts in the shop on your lunch hour? 😉

Small car show this evening.

The owner of this car yacked our ears off. He traded in his newer Hellcat for this 2010 SRT with 15K miles. Said he paid $40K.

Then a lady pulled in with this. Don't see one of these every day. Rarest and most expensive US car you could buy in 1957 - Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. Aluminum roof, suicide doors.

these were really awesome.....One of the very few 4 headlight 1957 cars, airbag suspension, $13,000...which ok maybe it was the most expensive whole car you could buy...but in 1957...you didnt buy a rolls royce completed car....like the chassis was $9000, then all the coachwork, etc....so thats most likely a marketing term.

I didn't get it either. Almost half the HP of his previous car. He claimed to own 60+ cars over the years and buys lightly used from a local dealer. This one has 6 sp and $1000+ in under hood chrome (who cares?). I said why didn't you get on the list for a demon 170 and he walked away.

I guess im discounting looking at regular Challengers as collectors items.....On the surface, given the fact that the challenger has pretty much looked the same for the past 15 years, and they have built nearly 750,000 of them.....I wouldnt think "regular" ones were all that collectable....but if this guy is paying 40k for an old one, maybe im wrong. I always like to think what becomes "collectable" makes some kind of sense....(like why not just go buy a new challenger?) but it often makes no sense (insert ANY vintage VW garbage)

1) my new one is a widebody, so not exactly the same look (yes nitpicking here, but deal with it since you being a car guy should be able to notice)
2) i dont get why that would be a purchase either, in 13 or 14 when they did the body style change there were improvements made under the hood (including suspension changes and such) which to me would make the 430hp (i think) is a significant downgrade from a hellcat, even one without the widebody option . . . .

they only made the 6.1 for a couple years so that engine option is somewhat hard to find, but its not like its any better or worse than the newer SRT engines, and actually makes less power so i dont get it either.

Wing powered and he was driving like the appropriate dumbass that goes with it weaving in and out of traffic.

On another note my numbers OCD forced me to capture these pics from my cars odometer. My post teenage boys were disappointed last year when I missed 69420 tho. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Yea dashboard is dusty and IDGAF.

My dad bought my mom one of these, blue/woodgrain......afterwards he got her mustang II.....maybe this is why their marriage failed

While im not much of a pinto fan, someone should bring back the 2dr wagon

I had a v6 pinto in 1982 - purchased with a blown engine for $200 - replaced with a capri (crapi) motor from a totaled car - another $200.
Sold for a lot more! I even found a rattle can that matched perfectly.
Good ole days...

That green one is only a 4 cylinder but at least it’s a 4 speed too. There was a 65ish Caddy coupe for sale in that same spot the previous week. It must have sold as soon as it was turned it around with the ’good’ side facing the street.

New Mexico car, no rust but the interior is well baked
Had a red one. The bumper rusted off and called it quits one night on Clinton Rd (yes that Clinton Rd since I commuted from Mount Peter to Picatinny Arsenal). Replaced it with a section of old guard rail (cut and fitted of course). Problem solved. Felt bad for the Camaro owner who rear-ended me a few weeks later. Four banger with a four speed, great on gas, fun to drive. easy AF to work on.
