Things that make you frown :(

Never heard of this. Don't licensed HHAs have their own insurance, etc? Why would you have to provide?
The state will provide a HHA if there are any available. So get on a waiting list. OR, you can get someone on your own, but you have to be their "employer", which means setting up an account and registering as an employer and paying insurance, benefits, taxes, and a lot of paperwork. The state will give you some $ into the account to pay someone. Very confusing and not worth it

We used a service - they knew how to extract $$$ from the government channels and took care of all the licensing and insurance.
Dad was a vet - there is a lot of benefits to be tapped. For my Dad and his spouse

What, exactly, was the service?

For my Dad - bedridden and lucid - which was amazing for a guy with a tumor in his head...
Morning care, bath, help dress, get organized - couple hours x 2 people
Then a 4 hours in the afternoon, just so my StepMom could get out.
Overnite care when needed near the end
Respite care - extra hours if SM wanted to go for extended period during the day

They coordinated with the Medicare, VA, and Hospice for supplies and palliative Rx

For my FIL, there was 24/7 care - dimentia and mobile
Again VA, Medicare, and I believe he has a Humana extended benefit???
He was also a retired GM employee.

So last nights simple DIY to change the automatic humidifier water pad turned into a frown this morning.

I guess when I changed the pad the drain pipe shifted where it drips into the French drain and got sealed off. So overnight the drain pipe filled up and backlogged all the way up the pipe where it meets the humidifier and overflowed all over the floor. I figured this out quickly since when I moved the pipe a rush of water drained out.

Quick solution which is probably now permanent was to duct tape the pipe to the side of the furnace. Then I added some zip ties to make sure it stays put so the end of the drain is now slightly elevated out of the channel.

Lucky for me today I decided to work at home due to early meetings usually I go to the office otherwise no one would have see this all day. Water wasn’t really that bad and everything near the furnace and water tank is stored in plastic bins for any water leaks like this. Just also glad it wasn’t leaking from my 10 month old furnace.

Not that I needed another reason for retractable leashes to be banned and illegal but this stupid b*tch walks the block with her stupid dog wandering across everyone’s front lawn without a care in the world. My neighbor sent me a text his camera picked up her doing the same thing.

Can’t wait to see her around on one of my dog walks.

🤬🤬🤬

I'd.
Is the dog crapping on your lawn and she's not picking it up? Otherwise what's the problem?

This ^^.

Sorry but it’s not right to have your dog blatantly wandering across the front lawn potentially taking a piss or crap if someone else’s property. Maybe that’s just me.

I trained my dog to stay to my side and use the curb side grass only.

you city folk......
😉

Wow, I suspect deer, and skunk are doing much worse. Maybe an electric fence?

If this bothers you, your head would explode in my neighborhood. 😁

So my issue with the retractable leash issue above is that the owners are typically not paying attention to the dog. Who can then take a shit on the lawn which gets left behind either bc the owner is oblivious, or lazy, or doesn't want to be walking that close to the house. Our neighborhood has someone we have started calling the phantom pooper (never picks up their dogs shit) and we find it everywhere including in the street and on the sidewalk.

My other problem with the retractable leashes is that the owners tend to let their little dogs run right up to my dogs (typically little yippers whi are barking the whole time) and then our dogs go into full on guard mode and it's a whole deal.(this usually wakes up the owners and brings the attention from.phone to the real world)

I see people walking on a sidewalk and the dog wandering from the yard to the strip of grass between the road and walk all the time. You really think dogs should be on a sidewalk only??

Curb your dog and clean up after them is more than just common sense it’s being a decent person. Pretty sure in my town it’s also an ordinance but would have to check.

And no I don’t want anyones dog shitting or peeing on my front lawn.

I would also add yhat as a dog owner you should know that not everyone likes dogs and you have no idea what your dog could ingest in someone elses yard...rodent thats been poisned etc...

Was just talking about a dog walking on a lawn. Which was your original complaint. Life is too short to worry about such nonsense

HATE seeing those signs "No poop or pee on my yard." We are walking animals in the outdoors. What makes your yard/lawn some kind of shrine? The toxic chemicals and tons of fertilizers you dump into our ecosystem is far more damaging than Jaco watering your perfect petunias.
