Excited for the trail but 100ft wide seems a bit excessive no?
"Turn an old, defunct nine-mile railroad line into a 100-foot-wide biking and hiking path."
Agreed, did they mean 10'? Or maybe the property/Right of Way is 100' wide in total and they'll use it to center the trail?

HHAA I was thinking the same exact thing when this first came out. That stretch through the Meadowlands and Jersey City is probably not gonna be that safe especially if you are by yourself and on foot. It would be great if this does happen but don't hold your breath. This is NJ after all.

I think it will happen. I am an engineer and I saw the project. Looks to be in final stages of the state grant.

Some great pics! Most of that route looks like a muggers paradise. Just bring a fast bike and a bat!

Hhhhaaaa And before anyone gets too excited the 15 years they are saying they are going to take to build this will probably turn into 20+ especially if they haven't done any environmental studies yet or received the approvals from all the agencies this is cutting through.
