bicycling specific innovations

I'm writing a paper on innovation and wanted to cite an innovation related to cycling.
Most of the recent trends aren't unique to cycling such as carbon, GPS, LED, etc.
Considering the quick release and derailleurs as original innovations from bicycles, are there other more recent examples?
QR was invented in 1927 and the parallelogram derailleur most are still using in 1949, both attributed to Tullio

clipless pedals
this one is one I considered but haven't researched enough about it, I know there were many version before Look made it popular for bikes, but their design was adapted from ski bindings, where I believe their roots are from. Lmk if I'm off on this.

Maybe one of the unicorn dust type lubricants? The MSW and ceramic bearing stuff I don't see as really bicycle-specific. Possibly some aero features. Thinking along the lines of how the bike tries to improve the aero efficiency of the combined bike/rider system.

Commercially/on almost every modern bicycle, is the slant-parallelogram derailleur that Suntour patented in the 80's(?). It is distinct from the original design, since it moves in two planes at once.

The bendix screw is another. At one point, it was high technology... Now found in $2 coaster brake hubs.
