Windham World cup

Bump....

The pre-reg for this is weak (CAT1), except the 40-49 class. No USAC Pro/Open at all for pre-reg.:hmmm: Looking at last years results the turnout IS low. Nice thing is CAT1 goes off at 8:00 am done by 10:00 am , home by 1:00 pm.

Except for pro's the turn out can be low BUT it is a big event and has A LOT of tents and sponsor's there as well as fun things to do and eat. It is a good chance to watch the pro's go out and kill it in down hill, 4 cross and XC and I know those chances can be few and far between. For the ladies, last year georgia gould lead a pre ride of the course with a group of ladies which was an excellent opportunity to learn from a pro. You also get to race on a pro course. I enjoy the race and you can talk to a bunch of companies and maybe even get free stuff!

The course is only 5.5 km (~3.5 mi) with 4 laps for CAT1. Basically you go up, then you go down, 4 times, should take about 1.5 hr.

It is a good opportunity to be a part of something real big. The 2 years I raced up there, the courses were fun. I am a little sad to miss it again this year, but I will on my way to Nationals.

Should I? I'm thinking of the 40 course again this weekend.

No way!! Come on up! It will be fun! this is probably the only location you will see so many women on bikes in spandex. Not to mention they are good riders! Plus the climbing will get you ready for the DH40 and make that seem like a piece of cake!

My family and I were there last year as spectator and we had a blast. We got some Shimano XTR hats. t-shirts and stickers for freebies. My daughter watch the kids race last year and now she'll race this year with her toys r us bike, lol. Lot's of fun, we will be there for the weekend to watch the concert and the fireworks on Saturday night.

That rock garden was one of the gnarly sections but was still fun! I may have walked it last year since windham was only my second race ever hah!
