We just got a jotul freestanding woodstove. We bought it and had it professionally installed by S.O.S. Stoves in Port Murray, NJ. They also installed a pre-fab, double-walled chimney. I agree that you should get permits from both the township and the insurance company. My insurance is Erie and they have a 4 page document that woodstoves must comply to; this week the Erie insurance rep is coming to do the inspection. I'm handy but there is no way I would attempt this by myself.....too many codes to follow, too many consequences to not doing it correctly.
