Which tire sealant are you using in 2025?

Stan's since... 2014... when Stan himself set up my bike for tubeless at Wyndham for the Citizens DH.

For valves, I generally use whatever came with the wheels. I pretty much always add sealant through the valve after the tire has been seated on the rim, so a valve with a removable core is a must. That said, I do really like that Muc-Off valve with the ball valve instead of a core. I see a lot of folks pour sealant into the tire prior to getting it completely on the rim, but that has invariably turned into a mess of sealant everywhere when I've tried to do it that way. So I stick with what works for me.
Been burned too many times by putting sealant in first and then dealing with beads that don't seat and the mess struggling with the tire.

I haven't had a reason to switch from Stan's. I do know when I was at the factory and got a tour they mentioned that their formula changes over the years for improvements.

OrangeSeal Endurance formula. I go out of my way NOT to break the bead unless I HAVE to and just top off periodically. Stan’s always seems to separate into Stanimals and a thin nasty oily dark liquid over time. The OrangeSeal seems to more uniformly coat the carcass and still maintain a fairly uniform consistency over time. But… it does dry out faster so I have to stay on top of refreshes.

In terms of the muc-off valves, I love the concept. Checks some mental checkboxes for me. My concern (and it’s probably irrational) is… what happens is if a rock, stick, vine, rabid squirrel, etc hits the valve lever and dumps all the air out at speed? Cuz I’m the one in a million putz it would happen to. 😳

WPL biobased sealant. The company has been purchased by Stan's and some of their products have been rebranded, unfortunately not the sealant.

Never had issues sealing, with the added benefit that the residue is easily washable from the tire inside with warm water. I've even been able to revive the dry one adding some water to it. It wasn't cheap but worth in my opinion. I currently have a small stash that I purchased from the close out sale. Not sure I'll turn to Stan's when that is over, I hate the ball that forms in the tire when it dries out and how hard it is to scrape from the tires...probably the reason it works.

Currently switching to Clik valves, I'm curious to give them a try.

I just got this as a sample the other day.

I have been very impressed with their tape (similar to DT Swiss at half the price) so I'm willing to try their other stuff. The valves have a flap...I'm not sure that's going to do anything but seal itself up we'll see

Still using stans....really have no reason not too....I remember in the olden days where I would get holes in my tires somewhat often....so the sealant would have to do the sealant thing....Now its WAY more common to wear a tire down to nothing before ever putting a hole in it. And im still a huge fan of the darts....While I end up using most of my darts on other peoples tires, I find that they work pretty dam well.

As far as the valves getting clogged...usually whenever I order from stans, I just buy like 10 of the valve core and replace them say once a year....They came out with these last year...they are expensive, but I decided to try a set...so far so good

Saw those valves at the Philly Bike Expo and almost bought them. Then I remembered I have decent supply of valve cores.

I always used Stan’s. Then I tried orange seal and can’t tell a difference. I think like @UtahJoe said, the tires are so much better now that I don’t get too many holes anymore. I’m back to using Stan’s.

My valve stem clogs at the base of the valve and not with the core. I just need to periodically run a pipe cleaner through to open it up.

Do the darts still break easily? I bought 2 kits a while back, and 3 of the 4 darts broke while trying to insert. Oddly the first one worked fine.

I’ve switched to the bacon strips since then and had good luck with the 1 time I’ve needed it since.

I've had some riding buddies have the same problem with Darts. I've carried this in my tool bag before the Dart was introduced. Have used it myself but more for others to use. The newer model has been improved, now loaded with 4 plugs vs 2 like I have.

Yes they break easily, if it's a small hole you really need to ream the hole bigger to be successful, I've been like 50% successful with them mostly for other people because I stopped carrying any type of air so if I flat on my own I just accept defeat and do the walk of shame 🤣

I feel like the first gen darts worked better as the barbs on the plastic part were more aggro. When they changed them I could never get them to work and I went to dynaplug, which I have had some success with, however not super impressed. I just purchased the latest version of the dart refills to see if they are improved.

Orange Seal. But I have to admit that I forget to check it and I'm probably on dried up sealant about half the time I ride. As others have said, tires just seem better now. I get far less flats than I did just a few years ago and those generally require a tire plug anyway.
