when to replace tires

I decided I was going to ride the season out on these(the worn tires). But the girlfriend Thought I would be safer on these. And even came with a awesome custom bday card! Thanks @kichibot !

Next time you flat, pop tube in, get home, toss tire.

I find that tires lose the ability to stay tubeless before the tread wears out (although admittedly I probably let the thread wear more than most)

Norms scenario just happened to me yesterday.....Had given it an extra shot of goo or two last few months. Kept pumping them up every few rides...then every ride. Yesterday hit a rock. Tire burped all air. Threw in tube. Got home and threw out tire. It's shot.
