Wawayanda State Park Conditions

Had to get in at least one ice ride before the big meltdown. Lake lookout probably has a good 4 inches and was riding fine with no studs. So long winter 25!

If you’re looking for a solid snow ride, Wawayanda is the place right now. Killer conditions today. Tomorrow should be good if you get out early enough. Firm snow, some icy spots here and there and overall a blast. Spots in direct sunlight softened a bit as the day went on, but @trailhead and I found it 99.9% rideable. Hoeferlin to Plymouth to Banker to Rockadendron to Lookout to White to Timber to South End to Sitting Bear to Little Bear to Wee Bear to Double Pond to Hoeferlin. 👍

Bone dry out there. Anyone who says the trails aren’t ready to ride is pulling your leg. Although, my ash pile is still frozen solid 4 inches under the surface. That probably has no impact on trail conditions, but I thought it was noteworthy.

Well it's not like anyone is blocking off the old line. All that sweet gnar will still be there for you but I'm never riding that crap again.

Also recently noticed a single track option going down from the HL end of cherry ridge and markings for a new line to bypass cabin trail. Cuz riding through arroyos ain’t cool yo

This may already be noted but red dot trail from hoef is a tree disaster. I didn’t document all of them but I’d say at least 8-10 trees down.

Great conditions today despite the prior day’s rain. No mud. Singletrack was sweet. Wildcat, Gravity, thirsty dog, Pines, Tombstone, Timber, Lookout, Hemlock. The only crappy section we came across was old coal road, from the gas line south to just about where Buddha comes in. It was quite literally a river of water. Came across moto tracks on Tombstone. 😡 3 rattlers on Thirsty Dog 🐍
