I've waded it. It is asking a lot of unsuspecting hikers. Doubling the length would be close to bridging the whole problem area.
I'm sure the people up there are thinking about it, and these things take time.

Outside of earlier this year and really last year with the drought, I spent the better part of the last 15+ years have to wade through or ride through that entire section under water. To be fair though, I don't typically use that trail as much as I used to. I much prefer to cut into sitting bear and south end when I loop back into the park. It's all relative to be honest as I ride to the park and back, so it's totally dependent on how I am feeling if I ride pump house. Now flip side, I tend to trail run pump house with my older trail shoes so I can run through the water.

WWSP singletrack is pretty mint right now. A couple of mudholes and the rock bridges are slick and obscured with some grass. Beautiful day here today!!
park is quite dry i'd say, including all of pumphouse. to those sadists who still ride red dot, there's yet another tree down, but this one is dangerous. it's in a blind corner on one of the downhill sections maybe halfway down. impossible to see until it's way too late. i crashed hard (luckily only scrapes). it's before you get to the twin bridges intersection
also, it's kind of a weird question but does anyone know what that horrible smell is in the park? it's everywhere, on every trail. kind of like rotting flesh or something like that but it's not fixed to one location. haven't had this experience there before...

There is a bear family hanging around the new Timber extension about mid way. The cubs (a little older at this point) are curious to the bike and start wandering down the trail towards you. This has now happened twice in a few days. Also, on pump house, there are a couple bears hanging around midway back to the aux entrance to the park. None were aggressive. Just FYI for the non locals who don't know how to bypass.

Back in the park tonight. More fuzzy bear friends on plymouth and hoefferlin. Be careful out there. They pop out of no where.
a dozen or so trees down for the past year and nature jim's section constantly flooded
there's also a really angry family of wasps/hornets/yellow jackets/whatever living under (i guess) one of the bridge sections on plymouth. had the misfortune of stopping for a gel there and was bitten 6 or 7 times. REALLY FREAKING PAINFUL
i'm happy to say that the 2 worst trees down on red dot have been cleared, the one around the blind downhill and the one on the flat section near the twin bridges/nature jim junction. nature jim section looks like a lost cause at this point. it's been flooded and just about impassable for most of the year. i think the beavers may have reclaimed that area

oh no not this again. last year i had to dodge these guys every 2-3 minutes as i was unlucky enough to not check their routes beforehand. what a disaster that was. here it is for this year in case you want to avoid them

Hope springs eternal but if past performance is any indicator, they will use the place like a commodity and then skip town after making a minimal effort to clean up. These “racers” should go play in the mud on private property, not shared use trails in a state park. Why are mtbers the only user group capable of self policing?

it looks like a FEMA camp in the beach area. i've never seen it like this. apparently they have "glamping" tents you can rent this year. i especially enjoyed dodging the 18 wheeler and forklifts they had sprawled directly in the middle of the trail today. also port a potties everywhere. maybe 30 of them.
i changed my mind i think i'll avoid the park this weekend...

Picking up trash is easy and I expect they’ll do a decent job of that. The real concern is having thousands of runners on the trails with heavy rain in the forecast. A perfect recipe for accelerated trail wear.
