Hey everyone, really excited to introduce myself here. I recently fell in love with mountain biking while visiting my in laws in South Florida in Jan. We hit up a place called Oleta River. I was on my 13 year old nephews bike with my niece's helmet wearing boat shoes, but my brother in law still thought it would be a great idea to take me on the most difficult trail there. Needless to say I got my ass handed to me, but had a great time doing it.

Flash forward to now, I purchased a bike(Dawes Haymaker 1500) and now I cant wait to get out an ride. Im really close to Parvin State park so I ll try that out first, but Estell Manor and Ceres are about the same distance from me so Ill check them out as well.

Anyone have any info on Parvin. There doesnt seem to be a lot on the web.

Welcome to the broad ...the party's just begun ...or should I say the spending! 😀

I have been many times. Check out the trails section of the forum in the south jersey section. I think Parvin is a real fun spot to ride. Lots of side trails to get lost on.

welcome aboard do check out ceres park it has some nice single track...

Welcome. Haven't ridden Parvin, but sounds like a decent place to start riding. Ill 2nd Wharton as a good place to build some endurance. Not very technical, but you can cover some distance on the loops there. Ceres and Estell lean more technical, which is fun.

Welcome aboard! Its been a few years since I last rode Parvin, but always had fun playing at the gravel pit there.
There is another spot that is popular w/ Vineland area riders, full of old moto trails, a short ways south on 49. Some of those same riders are working at developing mtb trails at Belleplain too, with a big trail work weekend scheduled for April.

I am also from Vineland. Although there aren't a lot of places in SJ, I think Parvins is decent. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime. I have taken the ride out to Ceres too. That is much more technical, as is Gloucester County College. Both of those are about 30 minutes from us.

Ceres, GCC and CCC are all within 20 minutes of each other. People are always riding at Ceres, day and night. Go on the Save Ceres FB page and post. Somebody will give you a tour.

Parvin is a good place to start. Well mapped and marked. I took my 10 year old there on hi BMX bike and he had no trouble. Enough roots and bridges to make it fun but nothing special.

Ceres Park is a blast! It's the best something for everyone park around SJ, and a great bunch of people willing to help you find your way. The biggest issue at Ceres is it's not mapped or marked and it's spaghetti mess of trails. Either have a GPS or like Mike said go to Save Ceres Park on Facebook and set up a guided tour.

Took a little while to post but if you're able to ride in the morning there is a small group of us from the area that hit the local trails a couple times a week. Hit me up if you're interested. The more the merrier!

Sounds good, I should be free most Wednesday mornings. I hit up Estell Manor yesterday by myself, and had a great time, but I was literally the only one there.

My days off got shifted around recently, so once things settle down i'll probably be hitting up Estell on Mon and Weds more frequently. I ride wharton pretty regularly too if you ever want to check it out.
