Vertical Earth Gravity Park, Blue Mountain, PA

Had a blast at Blue today. No lift lines and lots of fun in the sun. The brand new trail "Chainsaw" is awesome. Pretty wide, not so rocky, fun berms and not intimidating. It's a fun blue square run and i recommend it for beginners looking for something a little steeper but not scary.

That seriously sucks.

Get the F**K out.Ive been in the gym every day getting ready for the Super D:cry:
The 2 times I made it out there over the summer the place was a ghost town so I kinda understand.
Don't let the same thing happen to Spring Mtn.

Just saw this on another forum.

As of Friday, February 26 Mountain Biking has been cancelled at the Vertical Earth Gravity Park at Blue Mountain Ski Resort. The mountain has decided to dedicate all resources to the future waterpark coming in 2012.
Even though disappointed, the past two years have been a dream come true and I thank Blue Mountain for the opportunity to build trails and promote races with local lift access. To all the riders, racers, supporters, sponsors, and park crew there are a mountain of memories, good vibes, laughs, adventures that will last a lifetime. New friendships were made, more people are riding, and I can’t thank everyone enough for making that happen. I can say at the end of one year the park averaged 60 people a day droppin’ in on the trails a lot of people had a hand in. I know many of you will be disappointed but mountain biking may not be gone for good, so hopefully when the waterpark is complete we may see the mountain bring it back. In the meantime, I look forward to getting on the bike and getting out to a few races this summer.
Season pass holders for the upcoming season, the mountain will be refunding passes starting next Friday. Thanks very much everyone for an awesome two years of livin’ the dream. Everybody keep it upright and I hope to see you on the trails!

Yeah, you guys beat me to posting this. It sucks. Good thing we have other mountains to go to. Once the waterpark is built, they may bring it back. We'll have to wait a year or 2 and see.

Oh so you don't know anymore than what they have posted up on their site?
I was hoping you had some inside info for us:cry:

All i know is what Vertical Earth owner Dan posted which is what Droptopchevy copied from another forum. They're focusing on building their waterpark this summer. It's funny though because when we first met with them when they were talking about adding summer activities the owner of Blue Mountain said a waterpark was the last thing she wanted but it is a big draw for summer bu$ine$$. The other mountains in the area already have waterparks though (Mtn Creek, Camelback) and DorneyPark/Wildwater Kingdom is also only 20 min away. I dont get it. How many waterparks does the area really need? Mtn Biking and Disc Golf was different and i thought it was gonna continue to grow. It sucks too because i know quite a few local PA XC guys and girls who bought DH bikes last season specifically bc they had a place to DH in their backyard. Now some are already talking about getting rid of their brand new DH bikes. Very sad. I'll see you guys at Diablo this summer i guess.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. The ski shop at Blue Mountain is selling off the Vertical Earth Jamis rental bikes from last season. Looked like pretty good deals to me. I didnt check what the sizes were though. You could probably call the shop to get more info.

Blue Chromo hardtail singlespeed DJ bike $350 (saw 2 of them left)

White Parker freeride/slopestyle/All mountain $900 (saw 4 of them left)

Red Bam DH $1,200 (i think) (saw 3 of them left)

I hear there is another DH/FD "park" a little closer to Philly than Blue? Its also at a ski resort. Anyone hear anything like that?
