I think these mobile versions will benefit phones with less capable browsers more then, say, an Iphone or Droid. I have no problem at all navigating the regular site on the Droid.

I was thinking of my last phone (LG Voyager) which had an html browser but was running a slow processor that didn't handle graphics very well. I used to seek out the mobile versions of web pages to keep my sanity.

All the time. I'll throw my earbud/mic in talk on the phone and while I'm at it brows the web, or check up/wright my email... It's funny how all the droid/crack fanboyz love to point out the iPhones shortcomings with not multitasking 3rd party apps, however the moment it's turned on their phones lack of ability to multitask they get all defensive and say how "that isn't necisary" 😀
In all seriousness the Droid is a great phone, and if I was stuck on Verzion... Well I'd probably wait till Q2 or Q3 '10 when the Verizon iPhone came out....

Yeah, that too. My BB Tour is pretty quick at rendering, but the screen is too small for the regular site (always zooming)...hence my little mobile mtbnj project.

In all seriousness there is no need for "my phone is better that yours" pissing matches going on in this thread or any of the iphone threads. The iphone has its ups and downs, and the droid does too. So lets keep it out of this thread!

So here is the first reliable way I have found to sync my Droid with my iTunes playlists.
Its a bit of a resource hog, but it works.
Anybody have a better alternative?

Each his own. Apple needs to heed the complaints from there users about customizing, you will see other phone company doing commercials like apple does to Microsoft..😉
I just copy my mp3s to a folder in the SD card and forget it. Then again I never let iTunes manage my music for me.

I don't have a droid so I can't comment, but I thought google voice (dialer) effectively calls you and then connects you to the number you're calling like an operator. I was under the impression that still used "voice" to operate so using data is a no-no then? It's not a voip app like skype where the data can be piped through the data connection (on the iphone at least). Also google voice works fine on my iphone and I use it pretty frequently.
My GF got one this week. Love it. The digital keypad is actaully big enough that I can use it with my giant hands. I have tried 3 different iphones and I have never been able to type on them. In one hour of messing with it I had it wirelessly networked with my home PC and was watching downloaded top gear, had a GPS app that seems to do exactly what my garmin does (not sure about the HR, but I have not looked into it) and was bar code scanning food items for the calorie counter using the camera. Now im sure you can probably do the same stuff with the iphone, but I have a black berry curve, so these features were pretty cool to me. Oh and the google maps are AWESOME!

It sounds like you have a defective Droid. I've had mine since November and I think it crashed on me once since then. And I'm the king of multitasking so it's not like I haven't given it reason to freeze up.
