Valve Core question??

My DHX 3.0 will not hold air, the valve core is faulty. I removed it and was in the process of taking one off a Float when I realized the Float is under preasure with oil. My questions are?

-Does the DHX require oil when I reinstall a valve core?
-Is the oil thats behind the valve in the float normal?

The air chamber has no oil. you mey get a little oil seepage but that seems to be normal on most air/oil shocks and forks.
