“House Democrats are thinking the once unthinkable: That they have a real shot at winning the lower chamber next month.

Such a shift would require a robust wave, as the Democrats would need to steal at least 30 seats from the largest Republican majority in decades.

But the implosion of Donald Trump's presidential bid –– and the Republican civil war sparked by his incendiary campaign –– has left the Democrats with fresh new hopes that the GOP nominee will doom the Republicans down-ballot and return the Speaker's gavel to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after six years in the minority wilderness.

On Wednesday, the Democrats blasted out their first bit of evidence in the form of an internal poll finding that Stephanie Murphy, a Florida Democrat, has taken a two-point lead over Rep. John Mica (Fla.), a 12-term Republican who has endorsed Trump.

Even a month ago, Mica was considered the favorite. But the race has tightened since then, stoking the notion that Trump will be a considerable drag on the Republican brand.

Commissioned by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the poll is the first district-specific survey to be aired following Friday's release of a 2005 video in which Trump boasts lewdly about grabbing a woman by her genitals.”

So many themes to choose from…let’s see there is tRUMP on Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday night. Bill is trying to get the “Candidate” to say something to help him get elected, however, tRUMP is not “hearing” Bill and continues to hammer away at John McCain, until finally, O’Reilly, with a clearly exasperated look on his face, cuts him off and says “John McCain is not a coward!”. Priceless.

Then there is Kelly Ann Conway, who is looking increasingly frazzled as the denouement unfolds. She flips out at Briana on CNN (the Clinton News Network, as my brother-in-law calls it).

Finally, there is either Scottie Nell Hughes [or maybe it was Kelly Ann Conway again; I get them confused…] saying in response to a question “Let’s stop pussyfooting around”

But wait, I almost forgot, Eric Trump being interviewed on Fox last night looking like he would want to be anywhere else in the world other than defending tRUMP.

I am voting for tRump just to spite this post.

Oh but latest tracking polls (USC/LA Times, Rasmussen) show Trump bouncing back and in the lead. Oops!

True, but the University of Spoiled Children poll is an outlier. See 538, cuz Nate Silver is ma boi. There you will see all the major polls aggregated and begin to appreciate the full scope of the impending disaster.

Or maybe:

BTW, do you want to hit MC tomorrow while it's still open instead of Mahlon? I'm flexible cuz I'm a whiny liberal.

so what I am getting is that we cant even trust the polls cause there seem to be certain polls that are biased to the "red" and certain polls biased to the "blue"

great. just great.

Nate doesn't like polls that show hillary close or down. Anywho Rasmussen is reliable. A 7 pt swing in one day to Trump can't be good news for Hillary

should polls dictate who I vote for? I enjoy sports stats and Vegas lines, but political polls are the last place I go to

Anywho, Rasmussen is demonstrably UNreliable.
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/pollster-ratings/

So says Nate. LA Times is rated "A". Anywho it is extraordinarily easy to show whatever you want in polls, and this year with much of the MSM blatantly admitting they will do whatever to beat Trump, it's exactly what they are doing. Check out the demographics of the polls - in 2012, with Obama and his very energized base, Romney with hohum support, dems/repubs were +6. Anyone seriously think that will be repeated this year? Many of Nate's "good" polls are oversampling dems, undersampling independents (where trump is up). Bottom line, the only poll that matters is Nov 8

Same as newspaper endorsements. Does anyone care who a paper editorial board likes? Does anyone even read papers anymore??

Read them or not they're the only organizations that investigate and expose things like Bridgegate. Once local journalists are gone "because the cost of doing business" who's going to pick up the slack?

Yea, what are we gonna do when there's no one left to investigate these very important topics? Oh, the horror.

Yea, by law enforcement, not a biased newspaper. And the whole Bridgegate thing is a joke. Like it wasn't designed to bring Christie down while he was riding a wave of popularity. And we need papers investigating ass grabbing that happened 30 years ago. Where have all these women been, that they all have the courage to come forward now, a month before the election?

Christie is an a-hole and is at the bottom of this Bridgegate deal. To say the news made up this "joke" to bring him down is BS....it's his own ego that did that.
