Tourne Trail Build Thursdays

THANK YOU to Kerri, Norm, Cara, Bill, Will, Mike, Dave, and Frank for the amazing trail work today with starting the new Tourne trail loop trail!!! We made some great progress.

We got some feedback that weekdays would be better for most people so we will continue the progress this Thursday 5/27 at 5pm.

If you need to arrive after 5pm, please indicate that in the RSVP so we can make arrangements to get you to the work area.

Meet at the upper parking lot by the playground which is only accessible from Old Boonton Road (Norris Rd). If you end up at the ball field, just walk up the road to the upper lot.

There are 2 trail building opportunities planned this week at Tourne to help keep the great progress going.

Thursday (7/22) at 5 pm. The forecast is looking good so we will continue with our regular Thursday evening build session. No registration is required. All other details are the same as above.

Saturday (7/24) 9am to 1pm. This is a special trail build activity in coordination with MCPC. To learn more about this event and to register please follow the links below. Registration is required for this session due to a larger expected turnout.

There are thunderstorms forecasted for Thursday so we will be building on Wednesday (7/28) instead this week. We are meeting at 5 p.m. in the upper lot.

Morris County Park Commission will be continuing the new Trail Fun Series this month at Tourne County Park. Our Trail Fun Series focuses on engaging trail enthusiast in more complex trail maintenance and construction techniques. The Trail Fun Series will be a once a month event, locations and projects will vary throughout the year. July through September 2021, we will be focusing on new trail construction at the Tourne. This volunteer event will take place on Saturday August 21, 2021 from 9am to 1pm. To learn more about this event and to register please follow the links below.
