Time to move to Italy

i should by some property there while i still can! (grandfather is from Italy)

Looks like they changed this - a bunch of years ago, one had to have a 2 generation connection to an italian national.
seems like they allow it now, since italians can purchase in the US......
 
Everybody can buy anything in Italy, and they do (properties, companies etc.). There’s only a few special regions in the far north where you can only buy if you have been a resident for a few years, supposedly to prevent young locals from being unable to afford a house due to wealthy tourists driving the property pricing too high above the market price. Italian national born and raised ( even not that much) in Florence reporting.
