I’m thinking of getting myself a gravel bike, this looks nice and is at my price point.

Overall it looks nice, I know that the industry is pushing 1x but I am still not convinced that 2x isn't better for gravel.

2x gearing is definitely better. But...1x allows for a wider tire and shorter chainstay, which handles so much better it's worth the trade off 100% of the time.

The best gravel bike is a converted old Mtb bike. Most 26 inch bikes will fit 700c wheels with 30 mm tires as long as they have disk brakes. 2005 - 2015 year Mtb bike have the same geometry as “new” off road road bikes…. Jmo

Mostly likely a 56, I’m 5’11” You have any on the floor? 😀.
Just an xl on the floor. But we do a lot of brands and we likely have other options.

I’m in AZ with Pivot but text the shop your budget and height 609-924-7433. The guys will send you photos to of what we have on hand.

Felt was purchased by KTM a few weeks back, they aren’t shipping anything but they will again.

If that’s the only bike you may consider, I will have my rep do a deep dive.

I like these conversations minus switching out wheel size.

Doesn't $2900 seem a bit much for an aluminum framed bike!? How about a Giant Revolt Advanced 1.....full carbon, 1x Shimano GRX group, tubeless wheels out of the box.....
$ 3,130 (+ tax)..... M/L fits 5'9"-6'1".... Most importantly, we just got one in yesterday, in stock at the Somerville store..... https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/revolt-advanced-1 ...
We can have you riding it this weekend!

If you wanted to get crazy, we just got in some Trek Checkpoint SL6 E Tap bikes in....Full carbon, 1x Rival AXS, tubeless wheels...the red/carbon is stunning!....$4,130 (+ tax).... https://www.trekbikes.com/b2b/us/en...t/checkpoint-sl/checkpoint-sl-6-etap/p/35170/..... in stock, ready to rock!

I always felt these were nice but never knew anyone who actually has ridden one. You are paying a premium for the force 1.

+1 for Checkpoint.

I have a 2021 ALR5 which I purposely didn’t want carbon but with the GRX group set and 2x to me it’s the perfect combo of price and components. Can run up to 45s on it.

For 2022 they got rid of the sliding dropout and it seems they are all 1x but for the price range you are at you could get a real nice one even carbon. But for me I actually wanted an AL bike as my carbon bike.

Thanks for the input. I was also looking at Salsa, Warbird, Warroad and others but was disappointed that at the 3000 price point they had mechanical disc brakes. My goal was to have a bike that will work on the road but stands up to rail trials / gravel roads. I do need to get out to the LBS’s to look first hand, though this Felt really caught my eye. The quest continues.

I recently bought a gravel bike. Before buying I knew I did not want a road bike or a mtb, I already have those. Like you, I wanted a bike I could explore on and fill a different riding need.

I chose the Cannondale Topstone carbon. At this price point you can find bikes with just enough rear suspension to take the edge off rough gravel roads and some single track. At the same time the frame and geometry allow you to blast down a gravel road quick and efficiently. It's also lively on the road.

My road bike is faster on the road, my mountain bike is better on trails, what I like about my gravel bike is that I find I'm less concerned about speed and more into connecting places I would not ride on my other bikes. Yes it's a novelty, but for me it feels fresh and keeps me interested in riding.

J at Halters has one of the best inventory of bikes you'll find in NJ these days. Do some research, read reviews, check out some bikes.

Yeah gravel is a trend, but so was cx, xc, 24hr races. It's still fun.

This 100%! My first time riding the gravel roads in Bedminster I was like a little kid it was so cool to explore new places.

Even the Columbia trail is more enjoyable even tho I have ridden it so many times on my old MTB.
