African Americans have a long poor history of mistreatment by the medical world and a distrust of it. I think John Oliver did a good piece on this last year.

Believe it or not, we're not the only country with alt-right/anti-science parties. Those other countries are having the same issues we are with Vax rates.


There's a lucrative industry of propaganda for basically everything. Meme pages and clickbait articles. I have half a mind to create some anti-vax sites with affiliate marketing links to Rush Limbaugh-style supplement pedaling. If I actually had the time, that could be a fun experiment to see how much I could make feeding the propaganda machine and profiteering off others ignorance and confirmation bias. Anybody want to buy the world leading corona-fighting-testosterone-boosting-male-enhancement all natural organic non-gmo anti-muslim anglo christian approved supplement on the market? Fight covid the way God intended.

So in other words, there are lots of people in the US and around the world who are hesitant to get a covid vaccine for reasons that have nothing to do with politics - yes that was exactly my point. In the UK, it appears to be related to age, ethnicity, religion, sex (women of child bearing age):

Right. Outside of and including. If you think about age and religion, for instance and look at that data between parties, you'll find some correlation. Every single person I know who is anti covid Vax is republican (or libertarian). Not really a global measurement, but I imagine most here would say the same. Their propaganda feed is full of anti Vax stuff from the same people that tell them trump will be reinstated president on whatever fictional date. It is what it is. There are always outliers but generally, right is the Vax dangerous/covid is a hoax crowd and left is the over-reacting pro Vax whatever crowd. I'm probably an outlier in the "I have no fucking clue what to believe crowd. Might as well get Vax, stay safe and apply for a gun permit because everyone is bonkers crowd."
