Had to go get routine bloodwork done, went into my doctor's office to get the paperwork as they were opening up.

You'd think an ebola patient blew themselves up with a hand grenade before I got there. Desk workers wiping down every surface with wipes, everyone wearing gloves, box of masks on the counter, mandatory to wear if you're sick.

Current flu has already killed 16,000 in the US, it will kill just as many, if not more, next year, so yes, its worse. Corona is just way more contagious. The only thing this epidemic highlights is:

  1. How nasty we are and how little we practice personal hygiene.
  2. How little most people understand about science.
  3. How the media likes to sensationalize things (as if we didn't know).
  4. How social media blows things up even more..
  5. How we won't be able to prevent a real epidemic when it happens.

looks like there's a decent chance i'll be working from home for a bit. just had a meeting about making sure we're all set to still publish if we're not allowed to come in to the office for a bit.

too bad i'll be on vacation for a week.
 
My wife's current client is the PA of NY/NJ. They told all consultants to bring home whatever they need to work from home. But, also said the CDC told them that the media is exaggerating and this really isn't that bad.

I would go by whatever the CDC says. I've trained with them down in Hotlanta, they know their shit.
