How does that work? Breakdown of the plastic?

I was under the impression that the "breathability " of the plastic allowed air to get to gas thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Was gonna say, I stole my gas can from my parents who probably bought it before I was alive. Pours great without any safety features and no plastic splitting.

Guess I'll have to find a metal can if I need a replacement.
