Thermal tight recommendations?

saving money

i would highly look into non brand names cycling gear. for example, icebreaker makes solid merino wool and everything, but you can get 2 pairs of pants and shirts from duofold for the same price youd pay for 1 ice breaker shirt. i dont wear tights, but my dad highly reccomends pearl products

The best thing for cold feet is winter boots. I got a pair aof Answer Kashmiers for 70 dollars a couple of years ago, best winter biking investment.

what do you folks use in the way of thermal cycling socks?

Trek Oslo's are my go-to winter sock. They'll get you down to freezing before you need booties and/or winter shoes. Below freezing I use the Gore Alaska socks with normal summer socks under them. You'll need to experiment a bit though, different people have different tolerances to cold. As a for instance, I use normal road shoes all year round and my feet don't get cold, that's not usually the case for most.

Back to the tights. The reason you get them sans chamios is so you can wear them multiple times without washing them. Change the shorts under them everyday. You'll save some loot because you wont need to buy a ton of expensive winter clothing. If you ride 5-6 times a week that's a pretty big investment. If you ride once a week, forget that statement. 😀

Castelli bib tights winter...

Castelli bib shorts summer...

comfort, fit, and durability come at a price...just like drinking patron vs. jose cuervo

thanks again

Go to Sierra Trading Post. They have some good cyclying clothing deals every now and them. I picked up some PI padded shorts last month for $36. I always score some good ski sock deals for skiing. Smartwool socks that are $20 in the store can be had for $6. They have cycling socks too. Make sure you sign up for their email. They send you coupons for 20% and higher every week. I just got a one day coupon for 20% and free shipping but it expired already.
