Well, didn't want to do my last ride like a chump and just do a 1 hr relatively flat road ride (I did my share of those rides this month), so went back to my first ride of this competition in NJ and did a harder version. Three Cat 4 climbs including Spring Hill, 2 hrs moving time. Absolutely beautiful day for a ride and it was great until the last two miles - I'm on the home stretch going north on Barley Sheaf - at the intersection with Kuhl some clown in a red pickup truck slows down at the stop sign, then continues through right as I'm going past. He slammed on the brakes at the last second, as did I, to avoid a collision. I may have yelled a, "YOU FUCKING IDIOT!" Jersey drivers are the worst!

Anywho, had fun playing along. Since I retired, I don't play for prizes, it's too much of an advantage to be able to ride any time during the day. So kick my 50 clam gift certificate down the line, up to the 31ers or sideways.

Day 31 - I can’t believe I finished this thing… Thanks to everyone for putting it together and getting everyone out and riding this month. I had a great time and have some new people to follow & kudos on Strava, and I look forward to actually meeting some of you in real life at some point!

Beautiful day for a ride today. Looking forward to eggplant parm tonight. Happy trails everyone!

Updated to here. If you have a green name you did it for your group.

congrats to everyone who has finished that 31 so far! tracking it today sorta feels like watching a race as people cross over.

i didn’t turn on my Strava when I was out with @GSTim today but we rode and cut a ton of crap at six mile. I got my 20 so im happy.

Thanks for keeping track, and thanks to the organizing folks and sponsoring people too. A fun challenge and certainly challenging to complete, hats off to those 31 for 31 people, well done. I’m glad I squeaked out my 20 days. Will hopefully be able to go further next time. Rest up and Ride on.

Day 31 done. Challenge seen, accepted, and conquered. Worth it. To celebrate, the last ride of this challenge was to my local DQ. By local I mean 19 miles away. Hahaha. So I made it a 40 mile ride total. Longest bike ride for me.

Congrats to everyone who participated and accomplished the goal in their respective group. Big thanks to Halters, MTBNJ, JORBA and the organizers here who set everything up and kept everyone in line.
This was a good warm up. Who's continuing?

31/31

Got out his morning for some trimming with @clarkenstein . Never saw weeds like that at 6-Mile ever. Thanks Dave for working around my schedule and letting me get my Mulligan in on the last day!

Thanks @Norm and @jdog for running the competition. Never in a million years did I think that I could do it, but I think the mulligan and the 20+ let me keep it going even when I had the missed day so early in. This really got me started in the early mornings again so hopefully I can keep it up.

Will be interesting after a few days off to see if I actually gained any fitness or just wore myself out. 🤞 😎

Had to break it into 3 rides:

31/31 Part 1: Ride to TM at 6-Mile with Dave
31/31 Part 2: Ride Back From TM at 6-Mile with Dave
31/31 Part 3: Making it Official

Good luck everyone!

Day 31 - Woo hoo! Completed!

Mtn Creek with my long time teammate from NY, Mike and a more recent teammate from DC, Cathy (who also rides a Megatower).

Both of them were on time schedules and needed to leave by noon, so it required getting there pretty early. We were geared up and on the lift just about at 9AM. Love it when a plan comes together. By the time they needed to leave, we were all starting to get tired and the lift line was starting to get lengthy. Now that I'm home with some food in me, I'm glad I didn't try to do any more runs. I'm beat.

I honestly don't know how long it has been since I last rode at Mtn Creek so it was neat to see how much has changed and how much hasn't. Mike and I towed Cathy off a number of features: The Pipeline drop, a couple of drops on Tempest, and finally - the Phantom (Deck) Drop - which has been a personal mind-fvck for years. Bleuphoria is a new-to-me trail that was a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, I failed a bit at taking pictures, although I managed to pull a couple from some video I took... 🙁

The steed that makes me look better than I actually am:

Cathy in one of the rock sections on Bushwhack:

She was having trouble hitting the right line a bit farther up the trail from this spot. Plus, I was trying to line her up to ride off the rock closer to me in this shot. She did hit the rock-roll on the second run, but still went around the rock.

It was nice to be able to actually stop and look at features for a change. It seems whenever I rode at Creek in the past, it was always "go! go! go!" and I tended to take what looked like the easier lines but are sometimes actually harder than the drop lines.

Just got a picture Cathy took while in the gondola:

I'm so stoked I managed to complete the challenge! Congrats to all who rode this month! Thanks to Halter's, JORBA, Norm and clarkstein for setting it up and running it smoothly. It was tough at times and I'm looking forward to a couple of days off the bike.

Edit: Phantom Drop pics!

Not bad for a mid-40's mom of two and a couple of guys in their 50's.

Day 31 - Little tribute ride to Jason and Halters for starting this a number of years ago. 6 mile is much improved over that time due to his and other volunteers efforts.

If possible please donate my prize to the NICA organization. It’s always great to see the young riders out on the trails.

Thanks also to MTBNJ and JORBA for joining the sponsorship and keeping tabs of the progress.

Lastly Congratulations to all the participants for spending more time on their bikes and sharing their experiences which helped keep me motivated.

Finished off this 31 day challenge with a race, MASS series The Challenger at Camden County College, doing Endurance SS. Almost 42 miles and 7 laps for 4th place. So many personal milestones to mention. Longest ride of the month. Most days riding in a month. Most miles, hours, etc. Congrats to all the other 31 day finishers. Thanks to @clarkenstein for keeping the score.
