1:46, 2000+ ft of climbing

Back in NJ after more than 6 months riding in Fl. Felt good to ride in cooler temps, lots of shade and some hills to climb. Some observations:

1. Roads that keep going up for more than 20 ft - some keep going up for hundreds of feet.
1.a - Haven't totally lost my climbing legs - didn't do the steepest hills in the sourlands but was able to climb everything staying in the 52 tooth front ring
1.b - I did more climbing in this one ride than the entire months of Mar and June combined in FL
2. Coasting! In FL, you are either pedaling or not moving. Today's ride, I actually felt chilly on the long, fast downhills
3. No perceptible wind - what's up with that?
4. NJ really does stink, especially rural NJ. But in a good way. No farms around us in FL, just cattle ranches. And you never see where the cattle are housed

Day 5 - Two dirt days in a row!

I'm starting to wonder if the "pandemic crush" is over - holy crap, the trails at Pennypack are overgrown. Way more so than I remember them being at this time last year.

Saw a trio of horses - and got stuck behind them for a few minutes until I was able to jump back into singletrack that was far too overgrown for them.

Fortunately, the trails weren't terribly muddy, other than a few typical spots.

Day 5 ✔️
My road bike has had a rear flat for over a month. I’ve been too lazy to fix it and have been riding the gravel bike, but the gravel bike is not set-up to fit me yet. So I finally got around to fixing the Evo this morning. Headed out to ride, very excited to have the bike back in commission, only to quickly realize my legs were toast.
