The July 31/31 Classic p/b Halter's, JORBA, & MTBNJ

18 / 20+

Late ride once again, ended up doing a full Iron Maiden inspired/fueled fire ride in the woods, the cheap 300 lumens emergency light doesn’t cut it, next time I must remember to fully charge the real stuff...

Day 29 - Counting down...

With a near certain chance of thunderstorms today which have been predicted all week, I knew it would be an early morning spin again. Fingers crossed the weather-guessers are wrong for those committed to riding later today. That said, I do need to make more of an effort to get to bed earlier the night before...

I keep hoping for a nice sunrise, but not to be. Still pretty in its own way. At least in pictures...

It's always neat how quickly a sunrise changes. A few minutes later, farther up the river. Looks like they are still off-loading the cargo ship I pictured earlier this week:

Tomorrow, after work dinner plans mean it'll likely be a repeat of today...

Day 29

Today was probably my first real "going through the motions" ride in a while. Mostly because I had to be up so early to make this happen. Rains plus soccer practice left my window real narrow today.

Local junk again:

29 days
18 MTB/13 road rides
Total time: 57:23

I have fallen off the 2/day by a total of 37 minuets but the next 2 days should easily make up for that.

I also have counted these local junk rides as MTB but in reality they are not. But they're not road. They're junk. Regardless I will make the MTB#>Road# goal.

No pics. I lame.

Get up early but still sleep in an hour later than normal. Realized last night that there was a trail system at the bottom of Killington Road and thought it would be a miss if I didn’t try it. Read that it was machine built trail with rollers and jump and other tech features.
Walk outside and it is 53 degrees, holy hell his feels good. Drive down the hill and find the completely unassuming trail head. Right away there are berms, roots, rocks and a few rock rolls that I was not up for a few min into the ride. It was also fairly wet and lots of puddles. There are a bunch of just slop section that I walk around and I am hoping the whole thing isn’t like this. Turns out it is like that on and off but in between is good. Lots of up and downs, really more ups than downs. On some of the downs there would randomly be a 5’ drop off a rock as an alt line.
i take connector to the other side which had obviously machine built trails and it always seems I am going the wrong way of the flow. I double back a few times to ride it the right way. I take the road back for time reasons and don’t really plan on climbing a two hills, kinda thought it was a downhill to the car, lol.
I sit and relax while having a coffee, which is almost something I never do.
