The Guitar Player Thread.

I really like it a lot on the 8-string. The string tension is awesome. The high E is an inch longer than the NOVA 26.5 vs 25.5 and the Low E is 28 so it takes a couple minutes going back and forth to re-acclimate.

Too many strings! I have steels in E9, C6, G, D, E, C diatonic, C6/A7. There's no amount of practice I can put in to be proficient on any one, let alone 5 or 6. Maybe another lifetime. Press on regardless....

But modern 8 string players cheat!! From high to low it's E,B,G,D,A,E,A,E

Yea, but I need to get reasonably proficient with the 6 string, and my hands ain’t big, everything is a stretch. Right now I have this:

But I want this, for not rational reason other than Dime rules:

Proficiency is an un-obtainable goal though, as your definition will change throughout the journey. Like cycling, it never gets easier, you just go faster.

Just as I'm assembling my wall of sound I hear there's now a ban on tubes. Just great. Another impossible to get item with prices going through the roof. Time to pull out the old Peavey and Roland Jazz Chorus..
