Tell me where you rode today...

Needless to say, when you roll up to your friends lounging in the lot, it's safe to assume it's going to be a chill ride:

At least until this tree tried to un-alive Elizabeth and I. It actually did hit her on the helmet and shoulder but was just a glancing blow and she wasn't hurt. I dove to the right just in time to not get hit.

And that was only the SECOND crazy thing I saw today. On the drive to the trailhead, I was on the PATP cruising along at 70ish MPH in the left lane and a few cars in front of me with something on the roof... "WTF? Is that a woman on the roof????" Yes. Yes it was... after maybe a minute, she crawled back through the sunroof. But a few miles later, I watched a Trooper pull over the car and a couple of other cars pulled in behind and in front of them - my WAG is those cars were the ones who called it in. I can only imagine the absolute horror if she had fallen off the roof at 70 MPH.

the horror would have been mostly for the car directly behind when she fell, her own horror would have lasted seconds, at most.

Oh for sure... and probably the car behind them and back probably to me since there's only so much you can do when traveling at that speed. Or one of those cars might have jerked into the center lane and hit another car. Or a chain reaction of rear-ending when one of the cars in the line slammed on their brakes. When I saw her I slowly started to let off the gas to give more space gradually, but I've learned over the years that many drivers are only looking at the car in front of them and not as far ahead as I can see like I generally do.

In other words: Utter chaos of possible scenarios. None of them good.
