How to you like the bike? I almost bought an SE with their PW-X3 motor during their closeout where they also offered an extra battery. In the end, I figured the 27.5 wasn't going to work for me for parks I like to ride and from what I've read, jamming a 29" fork up front messes with the geo as there's no way to compensate for the change. I wished there as a way to demo the bikes, but none only the dealers were offering demos as they were flying off the shops.

I’ve had the Yamaha since 2020, and I’m still liking it after this time. My exposure to other eMTBs has been limited to an older base model Levo and RM Altitude Powerplay, so I can’t really say what I’m missing compared to current offerings. I’ve had minor issues with the wheel speed sensor and error codes in the display a handful of times but it’s mostly been trouble-free. I personally love the handling of this bike, and the power delivery is good for me. I usually start my rides in “eco” and then when I start getting tired after a while on the trail, the “automatic” power mode is great to pick up the power on climbs etc. while not overpowering the bike on the flats or in technical terrain.
My biggest gripe is the frame design doesn’t allow any good way to mount a water bottle. Not a huge deal since I’m usually wearing a pack anyway but kind of a drag on the quick outings where I don’t really want/need to carry it. I did see a 3d printed mount on eBay recently though.
I paid full price for this back then and can’t really complain considering the market at that time, but they were definitely a WAY better deal on the close out offer. I almost bought another…

I live in Ventnor but its not too bad of a drive 40 minutes. I am retired so what else can I do. Sit home to watch TV.
Completed my annual review yesterday and my boss and I were talking about this. I don’t understand those people that say they won’t have anything to do in retirement. I will certainly find something to do, even if it’s riding my bike eight hours a day!

Ride on!

Even if I retired tomorrow, I'm not sure I'll live long enough to do all of the things I want to do... even within my budget.

As a result, it's been a constant battle with our "advancement-focused" HR dept... I'm 54 years old... I have zero desire for "advancement" ... my work goals are to do my job and retire ASAP - hopefully at 60 or when I reach the 30 year mark at my company in Jan 2031...
