We did shoes off and socks on and wasn't an issue. I would say it was 50/50 on shoes on or off with the group of 20 or so except for the woman in the back pictured here who road through it...
I think when I slipped on this 2 years ago it had moss growing underneath, was like glass. Today it wasn't bad. Totally worth it.
