Since nobody started this yet....

Why no disc brakes? I thought the pros were ahead of the curve.

Road disc = Don't fix what isn't broken.

Very exciting day 1. Whole fam was jumping out of our seats this morning.

Ventoso swore he got carved by a disc at Paris Roubaix (?) and the UCI suspended the disc-trial. His claim has since been pretty emphatically debunked and there's talk about next year, or later this year for a re-introduction. Phil Gaimon's been Vanna White-ing the new Cannondale SuperSix disc this week. It's inevitable. Look for more visibly rounded/chamfered/dulled disc blades when they return.
In the meanwhile, they need to get rid of those stupid wide footed barricades in the last KM. TWO crashes at the finish? Yeesh.
Stoked for old man SPOILER AVOIDED today. Nice to see.

I don't care what excuse they're trying to sell us.... The reason why no disk brakes is because it makes wheel changes more difficult and neutral support impossible. Can you imagine neutral support having to align the calipers. They can barely figure out the "lawyer tabs".

No one on point uses neutral support. The protected riders get team-treatment. Shelled domestiques, yeah, but... But while I disagree about the reasons for the suspension (the sponsors ultimately dictate what gits rid and the UCI has a terrific record of buckling in front of buckets of money), I do agree about the wheel change time. Nino Shurter's change at La Bresse took almost 2 minutes, effectively taking him out of the race. That's what they get for having lawyers named Tab do wheel changes.

Didn't Geraint Thomas use neutral support today? Same finishing time as everyone else.

Really solid stage 1. So enjoyed it I bought the NBC Sports Gold streaming so I can watch the whole thing.

Yup, good brain work. But he's protecting Froome in week three and has zero work to do this first week and isn't a team car priority.
Agreed bout the stage. Much better than a TT. Nice to see the passage du Mont St. Michel not ruining the race this year

Seems like this years route is created with the idea of getting Quintana a Tour victory. Tons of climbing and even the TTs are climbing heavy. The course is made for him. Going to be a difficult race this year

Richie Porte's puncture is a bummer. Just a matter of time now before TJ shrinks from the added pressure.

A mountain biker in yellow. We have a few days to gloat at road riders. BTW, not EX-mtb'er (skipping road race and racing XC in Rio)

Sagan was complaining about the green jersey rule changes last year and now he got both, maybe until the mountains.
