We are upgrading the site very soon. And we're going in a new direction entirely in terms of message board software. This means that soon, there will be no Tapatalk.

Many of us use it. However, the new board is much more mobile friendly and we're optimistic that people will be ok with the mobile version. We're also philosophically opposed to people making money off us with that app.

So, if we bag it, will you rage?

will i receive a refund check in the mail from tapatalk since i dont need it anymore?

It's not just the money Tapatalk makes, I'm fine with that, they provided the software. The real problem is that their hooks are in our board and your user. Notice that when you click a link it's directed first to tapatalk.com and then to the actual link. They are scraping everything you do and selling that, this is the part I'm not that okay with. That and the security vulnerability of having their shady software install on our website. Shady? Yeah, Tapatalk inc is owned by the Chinese Govt believe it or not.

We'll have a "app" of sorts. Which is a more of a permanent browser window type thing. Android and iPhone. It's just an easy permanent shortcut.

Tried it for a day a few years ago on another board and didn't see the point - the site worked just fine thru phone browser without it so ditched it.

I like tapatalk for the most part, but I'm not going to stop using the forum on my mobile if it dies. If you go away from vbulletin, what will you use? Or is that top secret for now?

I've been happy with the app since joining this forum, but I also access it more frequently on PC. As long as it's easy to navigate in another format on mobile, all is well.

I use Tapatalk for this forum but it's really just a way to get on. Whatever we use , as long as it works is fine. I like change.
