NYC DOT - Summer Streets

What would be the most seamless way a family could drive to the city and ride. I avoid the city but i guess i could take the holland tunnel and look for a parking garage. Or find a meter, but now i have to ride uncontrolled streets with an 8 year old and a partner telling me this is a terrible idea.

Weehawken ferry. That drops you off on 11th St and the bike path is right there. Options from that point depends on what you want to see.

When we did this with our kids 15 years ago we parked at a garage near city hall and biked up to 96th and back. Here are the garages near 1 park row when you can hop onto the summer streets route near the city hall rest stop

Second vote for the ferry. Was on it this weekend with the family and commented we should come back with bikes and explore more.

Ok looks like easy ferry parking, to pier 11 then greenway to brooklyn bridge

Totally get it. city riding with a kid is tough. Maybe look for parking near the West Side Greenway? It's a safer, car-free option once you're parked.
