Sub 6 minute mile?

Yeah man, fuck the Nazis.

So I skimmed this thread, but did I read this right? If I eat cabbage soup I can break a 6 minute mile?

conflagrating two threads...
wait, that is the wrong word (although it is a great malapropism)

conflating two threads. it is ice cream and M&Ms....

If you drink cabbage soup the only thing you’ll be breaking is wind and earning a night on the couch so you don’t Dutch Oven your better half to death.

I feel like I've been training for this my whole life.
You’re a brave man if you pour that DIPA on your ice cream, but be a pioneer, plant the flag.

My Dr is a huge triathlete. We talk bikes all the time. He tried to convince me to start running as he felt the benefit of exertion is 2:1, run to bike, when compared in time. I said, I'll stick with the bike, as my cross country days are 25 years behind me.

I'm trying to work out a plan with 2 days of running a week. 2:1 just seems like way too much running.

How much biking per week?

Most plans you would follow don't include biking so it becomes a PITA to mix biking/running but you can definitely be smart about substituting biking where it makes sense. And not that I really looked hard, but it's not easy finding a coach that is experienced enough to do both running & cycling that isn't triathlon focused.

You're going to have a hard time hitting your objective with just 2 days of running. Running a fast mile is more of a strength than stamina thing, and you're using different muscles between running and biking. You really need to strengthen your core and hamstrings. You also need to hit the gym to build type 2 fibers and also decrease your risk of injury. Getting stronger really decreases your risk of injury.
