Where is the Single Speed World Cup thread?! Yesterdays race was the coolest cycling event I've been to in the last five years!!!

Based on the photos I've seen, it DOES look like it was super-cool. A lot of the peeps from here who might have gone elected to do the Horseshoe instead, though.

Shoogs was down there and apparently had a blast as well. Who else was partying in the snow?

We probably had the fewest number of total hipsters at a cross race ever.

How ironic that food was a vegan food truck.

Saw lots of photos and my Twitter feed was blowing up! Looked like a great time!!!

It was definitely a wild time. I was not able to race or ride so I was happy spectating and heckling. Also a first for me going to Bilenky junk yard cross another wild race. I also got a picture with me and mayor Nutter.
I will be posting pictures on the sscx web site later tonight of the everyone is a winner race.

It was a great time. Nutter confirmed that handups are not a crime, at which point about 1,500 PBRs opened in unison. Ran into Adam; he one upped the old cowbell with his snare drum. There were definitely people who only cleaned that climb because Adam was chasing them with a snare drum and stand in hand and setting the rhythm. The ladies were troopers for racing in that much snow.

I hit up the Bilenky Junkyard Cross race on Sat. It was a blast.. I ended up getting to the final round but with non stop beer, flask shots and standing around I was in no shape for that.. I did get to jump a Buick so that was fun. Got to hang with some cool peeps and got Flask hand ups from Shoogs. Another great day living the dream as he says.

That's a killer picture. One of these years I'll make it down for this one.

Philly was a blast, I was really bummed about missing Horseshoe but I was convinced to go to SSCXWC on the basis it would most likely not be here again for a while.

I did the "Feats of strength" qualifier on Saturday which consisted of a guided 5 hour SS ride through Philly with random races and challenges. It was a blast and I qualified for the big show. I had a couple beers on my warm up lap (the second of which forced both out in the form of foamy vomit and breakfast chunks) before the race.

During the actual race I took about 8 beer hand ups, 2 pretzel hand ups, a pork roll hand up, 2 whiskey hand ups and a whiskey and birch beer hand up. I also probably slapped another dozen beers to the ground trying to grab solo cups at race pace.... RIP fallen soldiers.

Afterwords I got blasted with my buddies on Parachute Hill. I may have invented my greatest heckle yet - THE HUMAN BARRIER. Its basically a human centipede across the course. No one tried to ride it. Well, with exception to a few ladies which mounted said barrier and rode us like a horse.
