Skyline to Ringwood Options

sounds like a blast :drooling::drooling: how are u getting from ringwood to jh? can it be done through the woods?

i had to go with plan C 🙁 i am getting an early Allamuchy tour instead

At this point I'm just doing the road thing. I do hear there are plans for a connector though...

Got my ride in. My Garmin was on the fritz though. About 65 miles in 7 hours moving time. 7:30 total time.

My route was Parsip to Soccerfields, up to top of Skyline on Cannonball, then Yellow to left on blue then right on red to Ringwood. Once in Ringwood I jumped on Renegade and then the Skylands trail and out to Shepard Lake. At that point I took one of the connector trails and rode over to a deli on the way to Ryerson school where I jumped back in and did the double S trail and 6 bridges. Then up Pierson's ridge to blue to white to yellow and back to the top of skyline and the same stuff back to home. It was a good ride. I was struggling a bit in the beginning until I lowered my rear tire pressure. Then I settled in and had fun except for the insanely high endo I did of one of the bridges in the middle of nowhere. Massive face plant in a mud pit. It was lovely. Especially since I snapped my Garmin mount off. The rest of the ride went well and was a nice day in the saddle.

1 side note for those that may not realize this. If you have a mechanical - fix it on the side of the trail where as not to clog up the trail. I had to walk in the muck around a few friendly fellas that clogged up the trail fixing a flat. Just a friendly public service announcement.

no rain???? :hmmm::hmmm:

damn it... I knew it...I am jinxed...I should've stuck with plan B: Ringwood.....
It poured on me at Allamuchy!! Felt like 24HOA 2006 all over again...it must be me with the dark cloud...still was a blast!

sounds like a great ride, except for the pavement 😀.

I think I had 56 rain drops hit me over a span of 10 minutes. That's about it. The trails were in pretty good shape. The dirt was a little tacky and clung to the tires making climbing all the rocks a little sketchy. It was good though. If I could do this on all trails it would be amazing but no luck. I was contemplating that a 100 mile loop would be possible with just a little road thrown in. That may be on tap for the fall. Stay tuned...
