Six Mile Time Trial Throwdown - Beat My Time

I need a some verification. Some of you guys are noticing differences between each others GPS tracks. I can't really tell any differences.

Tell me if I'm wrong but ride the park clockwise like usual and hit every trail and all the jacques lane and canal side fields and then double back on everything after crossing S Middlebush to make your way back to 27? Basically, I'm asking if we are cutting out any twisties on our return.

As far as I know, there were 2 GPS track differences that were brought up. I'm not talking about the numbers, but the red line on the map.

First, Tony's track was questioned because he had taken some shortcuts. Well, he had a valid excuse because he didn't know he was in a competition. He fixed it anyway by doing it again hitting all the trails.

Then, there is my question which comes up after you go through the twisties on the Blue just before the 1st field section. There is a fork that goes left (longer) or you can go right (shorter). It looks like most people took the right? Since this is Kush's thread, I will say that the shorter way is the "correct" way.

But in terms of your description of the course going clockwise and doubl'ing back, you got it .. don't cut any twisties on the way back on the Orange or you will be disqualified! 😀

although I know I'm not in the same league as you guys - I was going to wait until my next run to post but eff it (next attempt will just show improvement 😉... I was somewhat casual up to Middlebush... felt good so said eff it and figured I'd step it up... a blow out and a run in with some lady's (free roaming) German Shepherd led to 13 minutes of lost (elapsed) time...

being 5 weeks removed from 'el accidente' I'm feeling pretty good about this ride and have little doubt that I'll come in under 1:30 on my next run...

Distance: 14.53mi
Time: 1:35:45
Moving Time: 01:34:33
Elapsed Time: 01:48:32
Avg Moving Speed: 9.2 mph

Here are my numbers:

Distance 16.82
Time 1:28:12
Moving time 1:26:46
Elapsed time 1:28:22
Avg Speed 11.6 mph

Not sure why I consistently come up with a total distance of 16-17 miles for this loop. Everyone else comes in around 14-15 miles. I have tracked with and without a cadence/wheel sensor sensor. Am I taking a longer route😕

After I gained 1500 ft at Mercer I contacted Garmin... Their response was too smart for me to understand😱... I ignore it now

no cutting out twisties on the way back. The only section cut out is on the blue with the biggest log ride. You take the shortcut instead. Also, make sure you ride it when you don't have a race the next day. 😉

So when the trail forks, I usually go to the right and go over that little bridge, up the tiny hill with roots....
You guys go to the left? Not sure I ever went that way...

You can bump up your average for sure on that lower trail... Keep going straight😀😀

The approved route for this doesn't include that section. I usually go that way though due to the big log ride. The line to the right is way faster.

Updated for Rick, Jimmy soundz yardsale kingofcats, and Lou.

Great job. Those times are going to just keep falling.

So I finished 1:29:02 but minus 15sec fiddling with my phone stopwatch to start and stop (stopwatch no batt). 1m saying hi to Walter and Dana. And another 15sec to let a family of kids with trailers pass through. 1:27:30? BUT we rode the longer section passing the long log ride instead and we bypassed the main twisties on our return (which I had a feeling was not right but Cricket sounded positive, shmuck). So plus/minus, put me down for an unofficial 1:30 flat for now.

I'll hit it again sometime this week. I know I didn't push hard enough cause my legs did not burn nor did I feel like I had to throw up or pass out afterwards! Really hard to judge efforts without some sort of electronics to glance at. I shoulda had Cricket lead for a while though. Then I probably would have passed out 🙂 Whatever. The idea was I don't remember the last time I rode continuously with a hard effort. It was a good tempo.

i really want to push a 10mph average. if i can do that i'd be happy. Hopefully it dries up soon.
