Schwalbe NN blowout during install -- twice! Rim, tire or user issue?

Personally ill never go any higher than 40psi....if it doesn't pop at 40....I let it sit for a few, usually it will....or it bleeds back down to 30 and ill refill it to 40. Soapy water on the bead if its a really stubborn one.

Before receiving the reply from Schwalbe, I went ahead and mounted a gently used Nobby Nic (like 100 mi old). It went on and seated pretty easily, with just a little bit of soapy water to help get the last bit of bead to go. Probably 30-35 psi max to install it.

And then I got the email reply ...... and now I am worried about riding on it!

I've got a couple thousand miles on schwalbe tires mounted in bontrager rims with their plastic strips with no issues. I really wouldn't worry about it

I've had one car tire come off a rim on a tire machine.
Here is a little next level vid

while your ears are ringing, this should help put it in perspective.

GL with the next one - i'd think the soapy water would help set at a lower psi??

Yes, there was a young guy in North Bergen changing a truck tire near our job years ago. They had a forklift available to block it with but long story short the split ring decapitated him.

Soapy water FTW, any time I've had a stubborn one, this has worked. Of course, I need to put a new rear on one of my rides, so I'm sure I just jinxed myself!!!
