Just a place to post road races in NJ, maybe under tour de nj. For those of us that may be interested in trying a couple, but dont know where to start

Just got back from searchin the web for the same thing! Freaky! You're thinkin about it and so am i and theres talk that "The Plumber" is leanin that way. We should all go to the Skylands Tues nite thing at the fairgrounds and see who gets outta cat 5 first. I really just want to know wht cat i am cause the matchy matchy ballerinas in all these clubs are always askin and i'm clueless:popcorn:

We're all cat 5 until we do (I think) 10 races. Then we're all cat 4.

The NJ Road Race calendar is here:
http://www.njbikeracing.com/calendar/calendar.pl?month=9&month=3

Everyone starts at Cat5. It is mandatory. After 10 Mass Start events, you can request an upgrade to Cat4. To upgrade beyond that requires results.

The Tuesday nighters at the Sussex County fairgrounds are a good place to get your feet wet.

I suggest putting any road racing discussions in the Tour de NJ forum.

I was just suggesting that we have a subheading under the Tour de NJ, I didnt mean it to turn into a topic, My Bad.

Thanx for the info, I am a roadie illiterate

So a "rides, races, and events" under the roadie forum?

Interesting...

We should show up in wife beaters and cutoff jeans

is a "wife beaters" an article of clothing? or a type of person?

It's a white tank top undershirt, it seems in areas outside of Brooklyn they call them this. IN brooklyn where I grew up we called them something totally different but I will be respectful of the italian readers.

Funny..but that is actually against the rules. Your jersey is required to have sleeves. Seriously!

Still think that is one of the stupidest rules ever. I remember being prevented from racing once when I was young as I had a sleeveless jersey on!! Couldnt quite believe it when they didnt let me race :hmmm:
