Ride Safe everyone (Broke my clavicle)

I know 6mr isn't the most techinical place but just a friendly reminder to ride safe and always pay attention.

I was out last tues (8/17) for a casual ride with my brother and a friend and caught a bad line going over one of the small (like 4 foot) wooden bridges on the 27 side and ended up over the bars.

Tacod the rear wheel and after limping to middlebush to be picked up I noticed a nice lump in my left collar bone. Trip to the ER confirmed what I already new, Nice fractured Clavicle.

This is my first broken bone and let me tell you it's less then fun. I go back for more xrays in a week and half but looking like 5 more weeks of recovery at least.

So keep the rubber side down and always wear a helmet.

Tons of people get hurt at 6 mile. You go fast, and the lack of tech can allow you to let your guard down.
Heal up!

No it full of Ninja's and Bears, and Wookies.

It is not so tame, I have see guys whip out bad, for just dropping there guard.
Because it is so much fun, that little bit of health fear goes away... Then you get a little sloppy...

Get well soon..
I can see where 6 mile can lull you into a false sense of safety but as with all trails it only takes a second...

Sorry to hear man, heel up quick. I probably had one of my hardest crashes of the year at 6m on saturday. Always carrying alot of speed at that place.

Bummer man, feel better. You may be able to ride the trainer in a couple of weeks. It may help you get some blood moving around a little and may help you keep a positive attitude. At least that is what I found for me last year.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It's been a week and I'm feeling much better already.

Like everyone said 6mr can lull you into a false sense and thats why I made this post just asa friendly reminder so hopefuly less people get hurt.

and TonyC - damn what happened there? mine is a scratch compared to that.

Sorry to hear you got injured.....best of luck for a speedy recovery.

Yup you were on the green one cause I remember seeing you two and thinking wow they really do ride the orange trail.

Thanks for checking if I was ok, at that point I thought my bike was more beat up than I was. Definitely not the case!

I'm starting to feel better though and can't wait to get back on the bike.

This is what my break looks like btw:
