Rear Derailleur Cable Replacement

Generally there is a cable housing routed through there, no? Changing the cable itself shouldn't be any worse than normal. Changing the housing itself isn't a ton of fun.

If it looks anything like this, that's the housing not the cable itself.
Is that the question or am I being denser than normal? 😀

WOW, nice bike Dave! Must be carbon or someone spent alot of time grinding welds.
My derailleur housing can be pulled out of the swingarm, but it's going to require alot of power. My idea was to tape the new housing to the old one and just pull. However, I think it will just break the tape connection. And you can't make the tape joint very bulky to fit through the housing holes. Just wondering if there is an easier way.
Thanks

Sorry, pic is not mine just the first google search that showed a internal routing. So you intend to change the housing not just the cable? Any issues or just being proactive? Generally you can use them for a while...

Wondering if you could use an old cable as a fishing guide for the housing.:hmmm: Usually the housings are in smaller sections so a normal length of cable would suffice. It's not perfect but would probably help.

Shimano and maybe some other brands of cable housing are smaller on the outer diameter.
