Dunno if yinzers saw this, but Rattling Creek is one of the newest IMBA Epics. We're pretty stoked about it for the town, our event and the trail expansion plans.

Take a trip out this winter before the snow starts flying and then grab some bubbly bread after at Kevin's Place!

Cheers,
M

I've only ridden there during the BASH weekends. Are there any campsites nearby? I'd love to do a weekend there when it gets warmer out.

This is awesome! WELL deserved! They should post a picture of the hang glider launch on the IMBA site. Coming across the field during the Rattling Creek 50 in 2009 and looking out off the launch almost stopped me dead in my tracks. It's still one of my most memorable moments racing.

That view did stop me during the race. Stared out at the valley for at least 5 min. Nice job and congrats, you can tell a lot of work went into those trails.

Awesome, this place is definitley one of the coolest places I've ridden. I need to make more trips here. Views are bonkers.

This is only a 2 hour ride... nice.

Anybody have a trail map or a gps of a good 2, 3 or 4 hour loop?

Definitely! We'll have to work on getting some good shots with that background. I always enjoy taking a few moments there to take it all in.

Camping

The only campsites are the rustic sites within the state forest - there are a few of them along Lykens Road that you can get hold of through the local DCNR office.

There are some other local lodging options though. I'll get some links together. Camping is great, but lodging is typically pretty inexpensive there in the valley.

Cheers!

Looks like about 2.5 from Morristown to Lykens. You can park in the Glen Park and then ride up the pavement to access the trails off Lykens Rd. and make for a nice downhill back to the car.

Map linked here will take you right to the Glen Park.

This race has been on my must do list for a while now but I always seem to have some sort of conflict on that weekend. Do you have a firm date for the 2012 edition yet?

Anyone have a trail conditons report for Rattling Creek? Thinking about heading out there this Friday, 12/30. Thx.

I'm heading out on the 3rd. Going to put my travel day to good use since my boss decided to hold a 3 hour meeting in the middle of Pa.
