Posting Photos for Dummies

Who can tell me the simplest, fastest way to transfer photos from digital camera (not smartphone) to mtbnj Posts?

My current method:
1. dump all photos from camera into laptop
2. upload selected photos from laptop to Flickr
3. click on a photo in Flickr and several more clicks to get to the right size
4. Ctrl-C (copy) the photo URL
5. go into mtbnj Post, click "Insert Image" icon, Ctrl-V (paste) the URL
6. repeat steps 3-5 for each photo, back & forth between Flickr and mtbnj, trying to remember which photos you already submitted and which you didn't

Seems like there must be a way to do it faster and in fewer steps...?

I cut out the "insert image" step by directly pasting the URL into the text field. That's one less step for ya.

The Flickr uploader makes it easy to upload a boatload at once. I used to do that and just throw 'em all on. Then I would right click all the ones I want to post in a new tab, so it's easier to remember which ones I've posted. I would make it a sort of Rainman process. CTRL+TAB will cycle through the tabs, so I would cycle through one at a time and right click, then all sizes, then medium, then view image. Do the same action on every pic at once to save time.

I think I am usually able to upload whatever I need in 10 minutes or so. Though most of the time I just post directly to Facebook and link from there. Quality be damned.

This is what we got while I shoveled the driveway.

:scared: that's EASIER?!
I'm hoping for some way to grab all URLs at once as a batch or something like that.
But I'll give it a try later - gotta go shovel more snow before it gets dark.

I doubt you can get it any easier, Woody :hmmm:.

Here is my workflow

1. Take way too many pictures
2. Download using Lightroom to PC
2. Select ones I like using a rating system
3. For rated pics, lightly adjust stuff like lighting, contrast, sharpening IF I have time
4. Convert the processed raw files into jpegs in a separate directory
5. Upload selected Jpegs to my personal website using a separate FTP application.
6. Type in the URL into MTBNJ.

There are probably 10 substeps... 🙄

If I want to make an album, then I use separate software for that, and that's another 20 steps.

For basic stuff, I upload to Facebook and link to that.

Be happy.

So is this to say that posting to Facebook and then linking to that is somehow easier or faster than Flickr? Maybe I'll finally give this Facebook thang a whirl. Yeah, I'm sure that'll really help solve my "not enough hours in the day" problem which is at the root of this thread. 🙄

OK, how's this for a solution... Now my mtbnj time can also be biking time! Sweating my arse off right now as I type, so I don't care that it takes me like 45 minutes to post this one frigging photo. 😎

Well to post to FB you need the smartphone, otherwise it's the same hassle as Flickr.

Though I think you should get a FB account because you and stb are probably the only 2 people in the world who don't have one. And your wife. Cliffy's wife even joined last week. Vinny's freaking kids have accounts!

Don't worry woody no FB here either. I was under the impression that FB was for women, teens and guys who have no life...😀
