Crashed on loose gravel on a 90° turn on Yard rd in Delaware Twp. Usually take it wide but a car was coming in the opposite direction. Slammed my head and entire right side on the road. The lady stopped and gave me a lift home, then wifey took me to Hunterdon Medical.
Helmet is toast - would have been lights out without it
Ribs very sore but xrays showed nothing broken. This old bird bounces but doesn't break. Outside ER after 2 hrs getting cleaned up and bandaged
My nice Castelli shorts are ruined but most importantly, just a scrape on the systemsix brake lever and bar tape got ripped.

Eh this could have happened anywhere. Just bad luck a car was coming and I couldn't swing left for a wider turn and away from the gravel.

Glad you and bike are not badly damaged.
Not sure if Kask has crash replacement discount good to check with them. And then send them a thank you note for a well made helmet

Good thought - checked and discount only good within 2 years. This helmet is almost 4 years old. Time for a new one anyway

PS just ordered an S-Works Prevail 3. Supposed to be the best ventilation helmet. It'll get the Florida test.

Had a very similar crash injury except my whole leg turned black from groin to knee. Found out it was internal bleeding from a hemotoma. It closed on its own but my doctor was pissed I didn’t go to the hospital when it happened (didn’t tell her I went for beers despite the pain) and she sent me for an immediate MRI.
Just trying to convey that it looks significant and maybe you should get checked out. Good luck.

Yeah, my wife is telling me to go to urgent care. It doesn't hurt but things are turning purple that definitely shouldn't be.
