Snagged this Blur TR from Marketplace. Settling on this as my race bike for next year. The Ranger was stupid fun, but it isn't a race bike. It was around 28 lbs built up. I should be able to get this Blur in the 24.xx range.

So the Element and Ranger will be for sale late next week. Somehow don't think I need 3 120-130/115-120 travel bikes lol.
That's really nice, good luck with it!!!!

I was riding yesterday and ran into a couple and his freewheel had given up really far from the car. I've been meaning to get the Wolftooth Pack Wrench set for ages to add to my pack... and I have a lot of Discover cash-back credit to blow on Amazon, so:

I'm also in the market for a good back-pack pump. I have a Crank Bros pump that works ok, but a better option would be nice.

this is the pump i carry (@Norm and a couple other team guys do as well iirc) works well and fits in my pack pretty well.(not sure why the website calls it a floor pump, mine came with a frame mount bracket)

as long as you are not a @Santapez style trek hater this is the pump you want.

Huh? I don't really have an issue with Trek. Do they even do anything weird and proprietary anymore that I would dislike?

I've been invited to a Trek private party in DC where the president of the company got me quite drunk. Also been to the factory in Wisconsin and raced on the world cup course there.

They (Bontrager) make the best hip pack for riding that I proudly praise.

Though it’s not a picture of one, it is a question for one.

Does anyone have a Bike workstand from Amazon one of those $70-$100 ones? If so are they decent enough?

You may need to be a bit more specific. A quick search shows a lot of options in that price range.

I don’t really have any in mind I was hoping someone might have one to give suggestions
I know the Bikehand stands have their fans, can't say I have experience with them. The max weight on the $99 one is 55 lbs, which isn't a whole hell of a lot once you figure in forces exerted while tooling around on a ~30lb bike. Their 110lb rates stand is as much as the 80lb rated stand by Park.

Honestly, my suggestion is to scour for a 2nd hand Park or Feedback stand if budget is a priority.

I have a Bikehand repair stand and its pretty solid. Does everything I need it to without breaking the bank.
After using it for several years I do wish I had some of the features of the nicer stands (Feedback, etc.), but I don't want to pay for them.

I would also agree about getting a really nice stand 2nd hand if you are planning on doing a lot of maintenance, but I also wouldn't hesitate to grab one of these if you need it right now.

This seems like the best hybrid of portability and stability. Not for keeping on the bike, but in the bike bag in the trunk. Fold out foot ledge for stability and handle opens up to get a better grip on it. Ample hose to no strain the valve stem while you furiously mast.. err... pump up the tire.

Best part of it is that it spares you the indignity of awkwardly crouching over the wheel while j3rking off some direct attach mini pump, usually at the trail head with countless onlookers.

If it's just for the trunk if the car, why not just use a regular floor pump?

I just keep one of these in my bike bag:

I maybe charge the battery once every month or two, the shape is a lot easier to store than a floor pump, no furious...j3rking required. There are lots of companies offering these. I have the Makita because I have a ton of their batteries but I'd rather have one, like the Milwaukee, that has a settable target pressure and locking trigger.

i have a "go bag" with all the bike gear and the pump and an accurate digital gauge lives in that so it needs to be a little more portable. Also the pump isn't my main inflator so i didnt want the full size units.

I have the milwaukee M12 inflator and its my main means of inflation. It is not the most accurate in that it generally overfills by about 2 psi when it shuts off. Maybe its something to do with the lower PSI resolution of bike tires vs car?

I think mine under-inflates by about 2psi. I always just go over by a few and then use a digital gauge to get to the psi that I actually want. Or just call it close enough.

I ended up ordering a Topeak version of the Bontrager pump shown above. We'll see how it goes. It's mainly a pack pump, but when I need a pump far from the car (where I usually have my regular floor pump), I'd rather not be pumping for ages... and a gauge I can read would be nice, vs. the one on the CB pump that I can't see while in use.

For better or worse, I don't have much experience with current work stand offerings. I've been using a Park folding stand (that uses the same clamp as the shop stands) for about 25 years now. When it comes to tools I subscribe to the "buy once, cry once" ethos.

Thats annoying. I'd be burping tires left and right if it was way under. I find that if the core is clear and free flowing, its pretty accurate but if its a bit clogged, it gets more false readings.

Post up what you think of it when it shows up.

I had the larger version that I think Topeak doesn't make anymore. Was really convenient but was cheaply made, lots of plastic. Literally falling apart until the day I left it on my rack and drove away.

Would happily get a new one if better quality.

this is what I do. I bought a NWT Bontrager floor pump off FB Marketplace for $15 that comes with me for any events or group rides. Often i am loaning it out at the start of said rides ;-)

For on the trail/road I have CO2, including the larger CO2 cartridges in my pack for when I am on the MTB.
