It's possible I'll have a Pepperoni coming off a 92/93 M2000. Not sure if it's compatible with a Super V. Swapping out the Pepperoni with some suspension. If it takes and I like the suspension, I might see about parting with it.
The headset is 1 1/4" for the oversize head tube they had going at the time.
As far as timing is concerned - I should be getting the new fork in the next week or so + maybe another week for the LBS to do their magic putting the bike back together. I'll need to take it out for a ride or two to see if the setup is actually going to work for me so maybe the pepperoni will be available 3rd or 4th week of August if that works for you. No worries if you find something else right away. I will keep you posted, for sure. It will be nice to see the fork find a good home.
How about $75 + shipping? I can probably throw in both the front and rear original force 40 brakes & levers + stem & bars if you want.
The thing is in really good condition with perhaps a few scratches from a crash at Jungle Habitat. I can take more pictures when I get it back from the shop.
Hey - sorry for the delay. I don't know off hand if the fork is threadless. I'll have to call the LBS to see if they have taken the thing off and can say for sure either way. Just waiting for the new fork to get here. Fedex says I'll have it this Thursday. Stay tuned.
Judging by the nut on that headset, I'd say it's threaded. A buddy of mine had this exact bike (same colors and all) back in 92 or so, it was 1 1/4 threaded IIRC. He still has the frame. He might be interested in the fork if MBM takes a pass.
Rode the bike this weekend with the suspension (100mm travel) - it's a keeper so the Pepperoni fork is officially on the market for anyone that wants it.
Climbing is amazing. If anyone has an old M800 Beast of the East frame I may just try to build myself another one.
Next project is to replace the 20+ year old wheels. Anyone have any thoughts on these:
