Parking situation at TOS?

Is it still a shit show with limited parking and over-enforcement? I haven't been up there in over a year but pre-pandemic you could easily park 30 cars. Now, it's like 15.

Ever since they paved it, there isn't really much space to park up there. I haven't seen any enforcement recently, but I also wouldn't go there on a weekend. Even weekday afternoons you aren't guaranteed a spot.

There's limited parking up there for sure. If you get there early on a weekend you might be alright but would be difficult after 9-10am. Way less spaces with the paving and there are park officials there to make sure people aren't parking where they shouldn't be.

When I ride there I usually park on Wolfe Dr which is off of Conklintown Rd, which is off of Skyline Dr. You gotta shoulder your bike (or push) up from the street a little bit to get to the trail but IMO it puts you in a much more accessible spot to the Wanaque Ridge trail, the best trail in that little system.

Here's a screen shot of where that parking area is...

I thought you were allowed to park a little further down the road - but still on top - on the side near the gate to the gravel lot?

Good to know but I’m not going in that direction.

There was a time I could ride the trails from Ringwood to TOS and back. I don’t ride enough to be in that kinda shape. It’s a long day for sure.

Baring any parking issues, I’ll be riding there this weekend …one way.
