OOS MOGA

Isn’t this ask Norm Tuesday? Only Robin Williams(sorry) or Paul McCartney can answer that question. The only other thing I will say is “robotics”; otherwise, I will take the Fifth Amendment.

Oh FFS all you Ooozers now look the same because of these avatar changes.

The system won't let me put a comma in your username. So you get a period.

Alright, all ready, quick ride around the block and it feels quirky but fast. Guess that's what a XC bike supposed to be like. Think I'll need a slightly longer stem already. The 429s have short reaches so I decided on a large after speaking with Glenn who rides a medium with a 90mm stem. Problem is the long seattube which will only allow a 100 or 75mm dropper. Though I'm sure I don't want a medium with a 110mm stem. Now if mother nature cooperates, it'll get out this week. @serviceguy what are your plans for the Fug?

Looking good!

As for my plans with the Fug...there's no plan, just need to setup the derailleur and install the invisaframe then it's ready to roll...brakes have been bled (not sure how properly, both levers seem very 'soft' but they do work, maybe be @Paul H can offer advise since he has the same combo XT BL-M8000/BR-8020).

Setup is as follows:

- large frame, Fox 36 forks 160mm, 135mm rear using a 185mmx55mm Fox shock, 175mm Fox Transfer dropper post
- 28T chainring with 175mm Race Face Next R cranks
- XT 11 Speed shifter/derailleur 11T/46T cassette
- 800mm Race Face Next R handlebar
- Minions DHRII + DHF 2.3" (not the Wide Trail version)

I am also truing a set of DT-Swiss straight pull, 30mm winternal width wheels to go with Minion DHRII + DHF 2.6"WT...not sure why I went there but I did...

An orange 32 Stepcast would look sick on there and match your jersey.
True and would drop it into sub 24. I'll consider if the frame works out. The fork was rebuilt and has a pro tune from BikeCo

Did you buy the calipers separately? I'm considering bigger brakes for the Park bike

What I did was to take the caliper off the frame so that it hangs directly underneath the levers and the bleed port is facing north. Push in some fluid and then suck it back. You will see air going into the syringe. Repeat this until no bubbles. Tighten the bleed port nut and take off the syringe. Install the calipers back on the bike. With the funnel still on, compress the lever and tie it up so it stays compressed. Leave it on for about 5 minutes and pump couple of times and it's rock solid.

Prolly over kill tho to do all this.

I simply changed to my username to line up with my Strava name, so people can find me easier(for group rides). I don’t think that Strava allows a comma. So now I. Victor is
I, Robot.

I never had to do this with the older 785. I was expecting some complication with the rear due to the internal routing (I actually bled the rear with the frame upright to make it easy for air bubbles to surface), but both front and rear feel the same, kind of soft until they stop.

could be worse....

Who is going to play Caligula?

But I can just add calipers for the same result if I already have m8000 brakes?

Same levers. So yes. In theory I believe you could even use M785, I went through this a while ago while spec-ing the Fug. It's just not cost effective to buy the calipers alone. Also, you need the hose for the Saint/Zee instead of the standard XT that comes with the BR-M8000.

What you don't trust my advice about bleeding brakes LOL!!!

I think it has more to do with where the air is stuck in.
If you look at how the rear caliper is positioned and if there is air in there, you can kinda see that it would be difficult get it out of the caliper if it is on the frame.

I had this issue on both M8000 and M785 because I took the hose off from the caliper end and prolly got air in there.
