OFFICIAL Spring Allergies Thread

I'm a pharma guy and worked in a number of companies with allergy meds in their portfolio

Will caution overuse of the nasal steroids, due to side effects of thinning nasal walls, leading to permanent sensitivity to nose bleeds.

At home we use the saline method to keep the sinuses clear, we use the Neti Pot, but there are other methods.
Neti Pot has it's dangers as well, there's been cases of brain eating viruses introduced by dirty pots, so you messy types need to be careful

Yeah my brain hurts today. I may turn to boiling my ground up claritin in a spoon soon.

i keep a roll of toilet paper at my desk and blow my nose with it. one time i got snickers on my hands from it being melted and wiped it off on the TP.

whoa, today was crappy. ended up popping a benny around 2pm. its amazing, the second i take it, i have no sneezing in my life. WTF

the kid and i are starting to get some snots. claritin ftw - gotta watch the drugs, don't want to get pulled after the race for...oh, nevermind. 🙂

I got hit by the allergy freight train HARD yesterday for the first time this year. I'm also on that Claritin D-12 hour which keeps me in check as long as I'm not motorboatin' some shrubs. I take one in the morning, and very seldom one more before bed if it's really bad.

co-worker passed me some Z and it seems to be doing the job, we will see how the rest of the day goes, but only a few sneezes so far. maybe ill have to revert back to this.

I used to test Claritin, recent studies show it's not very effective. Zertec worked for a while, now we're on Allegra. Try switching your meds every few weeks

Don't know what just started blooming/pollinating but after a run at sourlands mountain preserve my nose started running worse than any cold I've had. Still going today but not as bad - flonase helps a bit but not much.

I have to see an allergist for the first time in my life though I don't think it's due to seasonal circumstances... Adding photos always better...
